There have been several threads on this... 1. We don't know. 2. Look at Amazon. 3. Search... there are quite a few big ones. 4. Time Machine? Depends on the user. 5. ASAP.

We don't even know when Leopard's going to be out. I'll have to go ahead and say no... there have been some instances where people who got a computer the day before a upgrade was released have gotten the upgrade though. Don't bank on it.

Or maybe the Zune's just dead and rotting.

If you have an install disk, pop it in and go to Disk Utility. Click Repair Disk. Not 100% sure if it will work, but it would be a good place to start.

Until developers start writing a ton of code that takes advantage of the 64 bit architecture, the only benefit I see is the memory > 4GB. This is a problem though, because a ton of people still have 32 bit machines and the code wouldn't be backw…

-
A lesson: Whenever messing around with partitions keep a backup around so you only have to repartition and copy it all back to your hard disk.

It may have just been badly seated... Run the memtest though.

He's not talking about Leopard... He's talking about the next huge change after Leopard. Like when Apple went from OS 9 to OSX.

FAT32 is the only format that can be read by OSX and Windows without another program. There are some utilities that will allow Windows to read HFS+ partitions, but you'll have to buy them.

Have you tried the Repair Permissions button in Disk Utility?
-
Not necessarily. Older 17" MBPs were Core Duo. A bunch of hardware changed between generations too.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to do this to my computer, but I'm really curious to see how this turns out...

You can copy any Windows installation with that method, but you NEED a Vista disc.

This might tke a while, but it wouldn't be destructive... It'll only work if you have Vista and an external hard drive though. Go here: http://geekswithblogs.net/lorint/arc...07/100596.aspx You will find directions on how to duplicate a Window…
