Oh, and Kyle Goldman's email also bounced. So, out of 10 email addresses, 7 are bogus, and two of those are for invalid domains. The remain three email addresses are webmail accounts that anyone can establish. I've emailed them for a church ad…

It's bogus. They spend a lot of time criticizing the Landover Baptist spoof site, but they both use the same e-commerce site to sell their merchandise. Kind of reminds me when 68k created Mad~Tool and Miss Tron to attack him and establish some ki…

Ever notice how close MacWarehouse, et. al., are in price to the Apple Store? Apple isn't going to allow you to discount systems, so you'd have to sell them for the same price everyone else sells them for. Of course, to be competitive, the "discount…

The short answer, Yes you can. Forget the c\ paradigm of the PC world; with a Mac, you can boot off of anything that's handy that has an OS on it -- another partition, an external drive, a CD, a Zip disk, even an iPod. If you had a burrito with a Fi…

Speaking of iTivo... Anyone seen

Actually, that's 61.5% less name...

What are you looking to do? Administrate? Program? Consult? Regardless, I'd say that, if you want a good job involving Macs, you're gonna have to take your search regional, maybe even national. Decent paying Mac jobs are few and far between.

G4Dude, yer gettin a Dell! (had to say it...)

That happens in OS 9, but I can't say that that has ever happened to me in X. If IE is freezing up OS X, then you probably have bigger issues going on. But you're right; the PC *is* a better web browsing platform, simply by virtue of the fact tha…

On the "Macs are overpriced" issue... it's worse. Not only are Macs priced higher than comparable PC's, but most Mac-only peripherals (like PCI cards) are higher-priced, too. And there's also the fact that Microsoft doesn't sell Mac Office at a b…

Yes, it's possible to burn vinyl onto CD. Just watch out that you don't get overwhelmed by the fumes. - Mr.Potatohead (yes, THE Mr.Potatohead)

The problem is the dozen or so updates that HL has gone through. Would a programmer have to recreate each one of those updates? I seem to recall that Mark guy over at Westlake saying that, when he ported Unreal (which also had a ton of updates), …

Actually, I built a "gaming PC" about 3 years ago for about $500, haven't made any major upgrades since then, and I get a lot of mileage out of it still. It won't play the latest and greatest, but I can still kick butt on a Half-Life server...

Copland? You mean that Sylvester Stallone movie?

I've got a G3 B&W tower... I assume the metal case is exactly the same as the G4's. Apple doesn't recommend putting anything in there except the Zip drive, something about the potential for overheating. So, of course, I stuck a spare 12 GB…

Technically, the iMac mobo's have been based off of the PowerBook mobo's, right? I would cast my vote for the cube as the smallest mobo. The original compact Macs had small mobo's, but huge capacitors on them, if I recall correctly.
