I've been using Camino since v 0.6 or so. It is my primary browser. I like the speed but most importantly i like the way it uses the keychain. No other browser does this afaik. Some sites do not render correctly so i do switch to safari from time to…

Well laptops use slim backlights. Maybe apple could use similar parts to make extra thin displays. I'm not sure what thsi would do the the brightness and quality of the displays. What is wrong with the current thickness of apple's displays?

This issue is present in all gen 1 iMacs (tray loading). 233, 266 and 333mhz models are affected.

Don't buy the ram from apple. Although i think Apple's ram prices are more reasonable than they ahve been in the past, its still cheaper from a a 3rd party. Its not hard to install RAM on the new AlPBs. There is a hatch on the bottom that comes o…

Assuming you mean acquiring by legal means and not pirating, then yes we all pay full price for upgrades unless you have purchaced a new system within X days of the release of the new OS. In these cases Apple typically offers a $29 upgrade to the o…

I ran OSX on a 333 imac since the Public Beta (now that was slow!). As mentioned, get lots of ram. I had 384MB. It is usable, but not fast by any stretch of the imagination. I ran 10.3 on my iMac for a few weeks before my PowerBook arrived and th…

Not sure about transporting hte PB while its doing stuff, but it certainly can run with the lid closed. Powerbooks are designed to run with the lid closed, this is known as clamshell mode. If you connect an external monitor, keyboard and mouse the c…

VLC has a crop filter, and then u can full screen from there not sure how well the filter works though. if you manually set the demensions to crop it should work, that will take some tweaking. The auto setting does strange thigns to darker scenes

I agree with most people here. You really don't need a new machine at this point, and it makes more sense to save for other stuff whether it be high school related or collage. If you really think you need more power and can give up the portabilit…

What about mouse shortcuts like in Opera? I love the idea of being able to click and drag to the left on a dorment part of a page instead of clicking back. Maybe have the ability to turn this feature on/off.

I have a 15" AlBook and although the speakers are some of the best laptop speakers i've ever heard, they are still rather quiet. I doubt the 17" speakers are much better and if you need any real volume and/or sound clarity you'll want to buy externa…

Not sure whiche burners support DL tech, but Roxio has announced that new versions of Toast will support it. So if the burner's hardware supports DL disks, its a pretty safe bet that toast will support the burner. http://roxio.com/en/company/new…

I love this feature. I have a pretty big library (3000+ songs) and sometimes its hard to get myself listening to a variety of stuff. Sometiems i forgot about older songs, etc. I created a smart playlist that contains all of my songs with a playco…
