I'm really looking forward to this release and I hope that they will port *the* major feature of the Windows version to OSX as well, i.e. the process model for each tab and plug-in. AFAIK one of the problems of porting Chromium was it being deeply e…

It's probably also no coincidence that Safari 4 will have the ability to save web applications to the desktop similar to what Google Chrome and Firefox' Prism does. I'm not happy about the idea that valuable development time might be shifted from th…

Safari needs to get its act together concerning memory usage. After a long, hard day of internet usage it has been not uncommon that the real memory usage of Safari accumulated over 500 MB and kept it for the rest of the session. Compare that to the…

I'd actually welcome an optional 1440x900 resolution on MacBooks (and 1680x1050 on 15" Pros) instead of a bigger form factor. The currently offered resolutions are a major reason why I currently hesitate to buy a new MacBook.

Bummer, but thanks for the answer. I was lead to believe by the Leopard commercials that Spaces would be a true virtual desktop implementation but it seems my impression was wrong. Hopefully Apple will consider adding this functionality with one …

Some may already have read the news but a new version of Acid, a web standard compliance test, has been released recently and the current Safari version behaves actually a lot worse than the competition (apart from IE). Safari passes 39/100 tests wh…
