Will Apple be able to still innovate in hardware, distinguishing them from basic PCs such as FireWire and any future technology or will they just go along with what intel provides in chipsets and the like?

The record industry threatens to increase the $ for online music. End result? Everyone rushes to puchase NOW before the rates increase. Meanwhile, the rates never do increase and we are manipulated like pavlov's dog.

I think it would make sense to have a chip targeted to the high end, midrange, and portables, all produced by IBM. No need for Motorola anymore. Until they can get their act together that is. Then we won't rely on one source.
