Some previous iPhone models did have a “bar” camera arrangement, but it ran parallel to the length of the phone. If they do it again, it would make more sense to do it that way, for shooting 3D images and video in landscape orientation.

Different people want different things. To adapt and repurpose Steve Jobs’ “cars vs. trucks” analogy, an electric Hummer might be the most capable car you can buy, from a certain perspective, but if you’re single and you live in the city you’d be be…

Who would notice the difference? If you have a 1st-gen Siri Remote, compare it to your phone. Does one seem thinner? That Siri Remote was 6.3mm, 5% thicker than what we’re talking about.

AppleInsider said: The CEO of smart ring firm Oura has detailed the reasons there shouldn't be an Apple Ring, but sounds like he's hoping Apple is listening. I often hope Apple is listening, but realistically it’s probably Google, Meta a…

The iPhone 6 was 6.9mm thick, and that felt like magic at the time, and even more so as newer models got thicker and heavier. The 6s was 7.1mm, and you could definitely feel the difference if you were used to the iPhone 6 (and not using a case). I w…

Maybe Apple should add a security feature that automatically reboots the phone if it isn’t unlocked at least once in 24 hours.

Always happy to see a headphone jack, but maybe the side would have been a better place for it. Some people will use it for headphones, but many will probably want to use it for computer speakers, where you would be less happy about having it plugge…

The likelihood that capital gains taxes will increase in the near future seems like a very good reason. His shares have appreciated a lot since he bought them, and there are a lot of shares, so even a relatively small percentage would translate to a…

Just leave it on your desk upside down—now the power button is on top.

The mouse should use old-school MagSafe, and magnetically snap onto the side of the keyboard (without flipping it over) for charging. Not the newer inefficient and bulky “wireless” MagSafe, but the old laptop kind with a direct connection. That way,…

Didn’t brick my devices, but it did delete my carefully configured watch face, and there are no currently available options that I like as much. They should never remove watch face options.

If they can come anywhere near what they achieved with the iPhone 6, it will be my best phone upgrade in 10+ years, maybe best ever. Would using a pentaprism for the main camera (and if necessary skipping the 12mp tele) enable them to slim things do…

I wonder if it is related to the thinner bezels. Since I got the latest iPad Pro, I’ve had a lot of trouble with typing and other touchscreen issues, but I eventually figured out that I just need to be extremely careful about not touching any part o…

Is the depth of spatial photos viewable on iPhones and iPads? It seems like it would be easy enough, the way icons on the home screen seem to float over the background, but I’ve seen no mention of this. Maybe Apple is intentionally limiting this in …

The models that sell out first aren’t necessarily the most popular. Most likely Apple does their best to predict the relative popularity of different models and prioritizes initial production quantities accordingly, so if some models sell out before…

As Apple diversifies its manufacturing beyond China, I would expect Ming-Chi Kuo’s analysis to become less accurate and less bullish, since his existing contacts will have access to a smaller proportion of the overall picture, and he may have more t…

It’s customary to clap after a film if you liked it and the people who made it are in the theater with you, probably announced, possibly standing up and taking a bow and/or taking the stage to answer questions. If you’ve never been in that situation…
