Leviton makes a system controllable with a normal-looking on/off switch that just attaches to the wall with screws or double-sided tape, no wiring or hub required. You just have to replace 2 button batteries every five years or so, apparently. But i…

Anyone upgrading from an 11 Pro or older model shouldn’t expect it to feel especially light—it’s only 1 gram lighter than the 11 Pro, and heavier than every older non-Max iPhone. But I do hope they continue to reverse the trend of ever-heavier phone…

My two big hopes for the next iPad Pro, neither of which seems unreasonable: front camera positioned for landscape orientation, as seen on the most recent new iPad model, and rounded edges, as seen on the most recent iPhones.

I’m surprised there isn’t more mention of the fact that R&D is up by $3.66 billion (14%). It’s a big increase that shows they are working on things that they think merit an even bigger investment than usual, and generally bodes well for the futu…

Kind of weird that Apple could think that you would never want to use the Action button without taking the phone out of your pocket. For some things, sure, but for silencing your phone, the mute switch was already better but now even more so.

The Lightning connector is going to be a dealbreaker for a lot of people at this point, whether you have a new iPhone or are thinking of getting one in the years to come.

John Legere built up a lot of good will over the years with customers (which has been very good for the profits and share price) by not doing all of the shady crap that AT&T and Verizon were doing, with hidden fees and all of that nonsense, but …

Pricing for the 15 Pro starts at $999, not $1,099.

A few years ago I wrote to Apple to ask for something similar for laptops. I mostly buy laptops, but 99% of the time I use them at home plugged in, and on occasion I use them elsewhere, but almost never far from an outlet. So I basically always use …

The tough thing for me was having to choose between a small & light phone and a phone with the best cameras. In the end I decided to stick with what I had (Xs) which was lighter and more compact than the newer Pro and had the tele camera that th…

People scoff at the incremental differences in weight and size over the years, but a current top-of-the line iPhone [14 Pro Max] weighs more than two top-of-the-line iPhones from 2012 (240g vs. 112g for the iPhone 5), and they have only gotten thick…

A 10% weight reduction seems like a lot to hope for, but it would be enough to make a noticeable difference in everyday use (and even when you’re just carrying it around and not using it), more than an ultrawide camera, a processor speed upgrade or …

I imagine most people would rather have a high-end sensor on the camera with the longer focal length than on the ultra-wide. I know I would. It’s just so much more versatile.
