I just bought one of the new HP printers just introduced last month. There were three new models. I got the Deskjet 3820. Its Awesome. It was only $99 too. I had an Epson EX and a Canon S300 (both relatively expensive printers and this little HP is …

Here's the website to explain it more clarly than I can.

Thanks for the info. I actually figured out what was going on? Under my active ports prefs, the ethernet port was configured last and the airport and 56K modem ports were first (I don't use either.) I turned those off and put the ethernet port fir…

I posted a question yesterday asking people if they knew anything about waxing Ti powerbooks. I spent a while searching through threads of people who have used car waxes on their powerbooks with great success. Many people have used liquid glass wax …

Go for the 667mhz G4 Powerbook. I just bought one a few days ago and I think its awesome. I play games on it with no problems at all. I also do a lot of photoshop stuff and it seems a lot faster than my old 533mhz desktop. Ibook is cool but the g4 h…

I don't pirate software, I'm just saying that this would probably be a reason to do so. I mean, I'm stuck with either 10.1.5 or a "slow" upgrade of Jaguar and I just bought my computer. Do you think it makes any sense to go pay for Jaguar just to be…

...and Apple wonders why people pirate software.

I concur. After wake up from sleep, connection is immediate with 10.2 and DHCP server. With 10.1.5 I had to wait like 10 seconds. Thats a nice improvement. Nice one Apple! Powerbook DVI 667 512mb cable modem

I just got my copy of 10.2 this morning. Took about one hour to install on a Ti 667DVI powerbook. I was hoping to see smoother window scaling with this version. It still is a little "jagged" compared to OS 9. Still playing around with it so I'll…

I get about 4 hours of battery life with normal usage on my 667DVI Powerbook. I also don't keep my screen set to the brightest level, so maybe that helps a litlle.

Mine just shipped as of 6PM Thursday.

I have owned 4 Macs over a period of twelve years. In that time I have only had one virus. It was that stupid "Auto start" virus that everyone got from the Macaddict CD about 5 years ago. Do Macs really need anti-virus software? I think .mac shoul…

I just joined last week and I'm pretty happy with it so far. There is only a few things that I think should be changed. One, email attachments can't be larger than 3mb. A lot of people have been complaining about that so I would expect Apple to …

[quote]Originally posted by smithjoel: The iMac will win in basicly everything except portablity. Not true. The powerbook is faster in just about everything. Even the Graphics card in the powerbook is faster (which you don't hear too often from …

Try Other World Computing. I think PC133 512mb is $107.

Actually, I think Apple does "get it" when it comes to selling to the masses. All of their "i" apps are directed right at the average consumer who doesn't want to read a 50 page manual to burn a cd. Apple has never said they were the "affordable" co…

I also have a 667 DVI Powerbook, and am completely happy with it. I wish I could have a afforded the 800mhz, but they are pretty much identical except for mhz.

If those specs are true, Apple is going to have 5 months of pretty poor sales until MWSF.

Sorry, but I've been busy lately so I haven't had time to respond. I'm not sure really how to repond. I am not tweaking the config file. Maybe someone else should run some Quake 3 tests and let me know what they get. I'm not trying to say that I ha…

lol. I wish Macs could be overclocked today like the way they were in the good ole days. I just bought the computer so maybe it has to with newer ATI extensions? I should check that. I'll let you know.
