On a separate but related topic, Apple is now also designing its own modems so it won't have to buy Qualcomm's any more. The huge question I have is whether they'll sell these to other handset makers? That would deprive Qualcomm of its present lo…

This is only partly about India. More to the point, iPhones assembled in India will not be subject to Trump tariffs.

I suspect that the ITAR thing is that this provides for a remotely-operable weapon. You can't adjust the aim but you can see - for some distance - when your target is in the sight. So just add a bit of hardware for remote traverse/elevation and tri…

I'm not sure I like the idea of linking Apple Card to my bank account. I would prefer to pay directly FROM my bank, rather than having Goldman Sachs PULL money from my account.

I'm waiting for Mac Mini Pro - an upgradeable Mac Mini. My current one is the last of the upgradeable ones, from 2013, with quad i7 and [now] a 1 TB SSD, plus a regular HDD for movies/music. Apple's pursuit of "thin" has gone too far - even ne…

Fire up the popcorn ! p.s. I especially like the part "... the chipmaker has failed to show it will likely win on appeal".

One major problem with HUD reflecting off the windscreen is that polarized sunglasses kill it. Of course, you can use non-polarized but then you get the road glare back. Ugh.

One thing to note about DND While Driving - if your iPhone is paired with your car you'll still get calls that you can respond to hands-free. And if you have CarPlay then Siri will read texts to you and let you dictate a reply.

One additional advantage using this in Safari is that the "Get Info" stuff saves the URL. So if you save a PDF of a web page, you can get back to it again.

I have a 2012 Mini for which I've replaced both drives. I've done similar upgrades for several other 2012 Minis for friends/relatives. It can be done a little more simply than described in the excellent article above in the event that your existing…
