The best thing - in this context - about BMWs is that CarPlay is WIRELESS. It has been for a few years now. I don't take my iPhone (was 12 Pro, now 15 Pro) out of my pocket for charging, or anything else. I just get in and drive. Brilliant.

I'd like an update to the "AirTag found moving with you" process, specifically for "Family Sharing". It should be possible to disable the alert for members of a "Family", although not necessarily by default. The case of stalking an ex-partner is n…

Same problem on my Studio (Ventura 13.2) and MBP (same). Connecting to Monterey Mini is fine. But this looks up Finder big-time.

Unfortunately heads-up displays don't work with polarized sunglasses. I was disappointed to discover that.

The last expandable Mini was the one from 2012, and I'm hanging on to mine. But I would really go for a Mac Mini Pro++ with space for a couple of internal SSDs, one slot, and expandable memory. That would be great.

I tend to be the "tech support" person for Apple stuff amongst my friends and relatives and an ongoing frustration is the confusion they get into with the Apple IDs. More than a few of them now have iPhones, and typically from carriers rather than …

A little off-topic but it's related so I'll mention it. iCloud email addresses are free. But you need to create one from an Apple device and, to prevent abuse, Apple sets a limit of THREE on creation on new addresses. There's not a limit - as far as…

Apple has managed several gigantic transitions (68000 -> PowerPC -> x86) well. Wintel folks have managed exactly zero. Having hardware and software under the same roof certainly does have advantages.

HEADLINE ALERT !! The headline for this story is SERIOUSLY misleading. "Apple iPhone sales estimates 'aren't any good' says leading analyst" It suggests that the problem is with APPLE'S estimates, whereas the actual problem is with the indust…

The A-series CPUs are getting so capable that it won't be long before we see them powering new Macs, at least in the highly-portable space. Apple has done processor transitions before and handled it well. One of the hints is that Catalina drops all …

On a separate but related topic, Apple is now also designing its own modems so it won't have to buy Qualcomm's any more. The huge question I have is whether they'll sell these to other handset makers? That would deprive Qualcomm of its present lo…

This is only partly about India. More to the point, iPhones assembled in India will not be subject to Trump tariffs.
