I can definitely say inventory is constrained. I work at Best Buy and the three best buy stores in our city that carry apple products are basically out of all 3 models and there is none in the regional warehouse so I would expect updates soon.

Retailers would offer more off if the markup was bigger on apple computers. I know for a fact that the macbook that sells for $1299 doesn't even have a $100 markup on it.

well at least the customer I sold that 24inch imac to today doesn't get a callback from me next week. Shame on the mac mini, that thing is an embarrassment

I'm curious to see what that $899 is, I don't think its a display i think its an new line of macbook possibly a netbook (little larger maybe 10 or 11 inch)

Just saw the ad. Basically clips from several movies of people saying "hello" on their telephone. Then says "Hello" shows the iphone then says "coming in June". Definitely an ad that will only be shown during the Awards.

I work at sears and microsoft just keeps sending us Zunes. We have over 40 in the stock room now. We usually only get a half dozen ipods each shipment (sell out pretty quickly this time of year). I'm wondering if some promotion is going to sta…

I had a problem with my powerbook a couple of years ago. It wouldn't stay closed (right after I purchased it). They just gave me a new powerbook because it was about 2 days after I bought it

I know AppleCare doesn't cover accidental damage but I've had pretty good luck getting apple to repair my powerbook mostly do to dropping it (2 lcd screens replaced) and a new casing (bent frame). For the lcd replacement I just told them it stoppe…

Best buy employees do not work on commission and do not recieve spiffs for selling a certain vendor's product. Usually hourly employees sell which product they like more then what is better, at least that's what I used to do when I worked there and…

Long time reader of Appleinsider here, but I found this article on the front page of google news. Quite nice if you ask me

Someone was asking for benchmarks of Doom 3 and Unreal, etc. BareFeats there you go.

Quote: Wow, people are actually buying tweeter-less iPod "Hi-Fi"? As another shareholder, any good Apple news is good for me, but I am surprised. Have you listened to the 'Hi-Fi'? It sounds quite good and most reviews agree the sound is amazin…

Anand also noted that the fear benchmark was the same one they always use. I believe this is quite a chip

If apple is going to offer $9.99 per month for movies don't expect HD quality. I would say apple would compress the movies to be about 700mb in size like many divx movies that are floating around on the internet. Quality isn't that bad on those b…

I'm surprised everyone thinks this means the transition will take longer. The appleinsider article even said it- "Through its Apple Care extended warranty service, the company sells 3-year coverage plans that run well into 2008." This is just…

Why does that make me an idiot? I read this forums for entertainment mainly--the devotion people have here is a great read. I buy computers for clients when they need them. P.S-I did read your post about Steve's calling to that father who l…
