Another option has appeared on the horizon: EIZO. They have a 24" screen, the s2410w which is pretty expensive (despite being their cheapest option), but I've only seen positive feedback. I'm getting really wary about plunking money for either a D…

Remember that it is SATA you need. EDIT: Chucker got there before me!

My first Mac was a bit leftfield - a second hand Powerbook 1400c. 133Mhz, 48Mb RAM, 1Gb HD. It was bought from a teacher at my school for about 700 pounds, and as he was swapping to windows because of the evil IT department, he supplied everything…

Since there isn't a keynote in Paris, I really don't think that there will be any updates there - instead they will be one or two weeks before, and then touted there as the latest and greatest. David

I'd say that that's too hot, but then again it is a laptop and none are that cool. Coming from the desktop side of things, my single core AMD Athlon64 2.0Ghz is running at 42 degreesC, and that's folding! David

Yeah, yeah, I know, but the picture Apple uses to depict the upgrade card on its store is definitely a passively cooled one - if it's slightly underclocked, as murmurings suggest, is it possible that it could be passively cooled? David

They didn't in the UK! Whereas the upgrade in the USA Apple store is $250, it's still 240 pounds here - over $400, and hardly fair... David

Basically, Apple usually does not announce updates to their computers until they are happy to stop selling the old one and start shipping the new one. So, sometimes, they start running short of inventory of an old model, so new orders are delayed f…

That'll be a new model you'll be getting... David

Another sign that they're coming soon is my local Mac reseller - www.cancomuk.com - they're quite a big concern, and are an AASP as well. Looking on their site, the've been waiting for new shipments of the minis that are overdue from the first we…

There are still a great deal of not-so-budget PC laptops that use Pentium Ms - I'm sure Apple can continue healthy sales of core Duo Macbooks for a couple of months while they nail the transition on the Pro only. David

Sorry, should of been a bit more specific - will it work comfortable, i.e. not put the fans on full blast and melt the Aluminium? David

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but if I wanted to get the display first, would a 23/24" display work with my 12" powerbook (1.33Ghz)? David

Look on ebuyer.com - I'm pretty sure I saw it on there, and it's a UK site! David
