• Yes that's checked and system profiler recognises it. Just tried it again this morning with an audio CD. Nothing .. restart and there it is.

• Once I restart, any CDs I insert show up no problem. It's just the first CD I load that doesn't show.

• It's your first point ... they fail to appear on the desktop and the eject ceases to work. I restart the beast and there it is. Subsequent CDs also show.

• Just experienced this for the first time on an imac running 10.2.1. In this instance, the USB ports ceased to function so I couldn't use the keyboard etc to restore the screen.

• I spoke to Symantec after very strange things happened on installing systemworks. They said their suite is NOT compatible with 10.2. but would be by September... Aparently the earlier than expected release of Jaguar caught them out.

• I've got an Ezquest cobra firewire 32 CD burner and it often isn't recognized. I have to yank out the firewire cable and reinsert it .... sort of defeats the object.
