Great, thanks

Thanks for the link. I use Pages for my home business and only use Office for work that I do in schools and colleges. So I'm hoping that I can get by with the older version until the UB release. If I can't, at least I get the Education discount

Thanks - I decided to do a complete wipe/reinstall and that did it

I've booted from the CD, accessed reset password from utilities and selected Macintosh HD. However, everything else remains grayed out so I can't input any info. Any ideas?

Thanks - that's perfect

The Virus C is a top flight synth. I've not had any problems with spam etc. If you go for it, you just drag the loops from the finder. I'm awaiting my upgrade to Logic Pro. I believe version 7 (coming later on) will include support for this fo…

I just did a quote in the UK applestore for a dual 1.8 with 2mb of ram and 2 250gig drives. I did the same in the US store and the difference was around $1700 This is why I don't have a G5. I'd love to have one though.

For a software solution, I'd strongly recommend Logic Big Box. This includes Logic Audio, a sample player, a synth, an electric piano and sounds. In the UK, it's £175 which is a bargain. If this proves to be your choice, make sure the dealer supplie…

The response I had there seemed just as baffled! Here's what my memory's up to with Dreamweaver open. Wired : 46.78MB Active :115.58MB Inactive :89.86MB Used :252.21MB

Having reinstalled, repaired permissions etc, could this be a memory thing? For web stuff, I'm using an imac 700 with 256mb of ram and 10.3 The moment it connects ... bam every time

Yeah, it's annoying OK! All other internet stuff is fine .... I'll try trashing preferences. My main area is music, not web design, hence I'm a little hesitant over this stuff.

I've double checked my remote settings in Dreamweaver ... passive FTP is on. All I get is Host found and then no connection ... it just stays at this point. I've 3 sites using different hosts and my cable modem was checked today. This all star…

I had this problem in the early hours of the morning and .... ahem ... I'd had a few beers. As I recall the problem seemed to be that Panther had installed a second set of drivers for my printer (an Epson) and so printing was causing it to get all c…

Cool, at least I know Dreamweaver's OK ... been having a lot of ISP problems lately. I take it you didn't reconfigure anything. Just when it connects it just freezes or quits.

So I guess I'm back to square one ... a dodgy card, or a computer that won't accept it. I'm under the impression that the dual 800 is a bit of a turkey when it comes to dual displays. Can't afford to replace it, so I'm stuck it seems.

Thanks for the reply. The pins appear OK. I'm awaiting a second monitor with a dvi connection. Does running just the one monitor affect the card?

I think I've fixed it. I reinstalled some stuff from the second Jaguar CD and it seems ok. One CD didn't work but that could be corrupted. I guess something got lost in the various updates I've been doing over recent weeks.
