Hmmm... This could be an Alibaba moment for Apple. It's not easy for the likes of Uber to come to China. If Didi has the right connections, it can be the only ride sharing service allowed in China

A few years ago I worked for the Hearing Loss Association of America. They were really excited to hear about Siri but that quickly fanned out because Siri wasn't (and still isn't) very good at speech recognition (I think Google Now has it better). A…

Why is this on **Apple** Insider? This site has become Canon Insider now?

My wife is an accountant. For as long as I know, a company never pays tax twice. Whatever it pays to the foreign country is credited so it only has to top up the difference when repatriate the profit to the US. So if you already paid 15% in country …

With Obama proposing 14% tax on foreign cash, repatriated on not, Apple's hands may be forced. However, at current interest rate of nearly zero, I see no reason why Apple doesn't want to issue more debts to finance their capital plan.

An unknown supplier can pull off this stun. They don't need tens of millions of pieces of sapphire glasses. Neither do they have to worry about brittleness of the screen, or about court-challenges to the "unbreakable" display. If it breaks, people w…

I wish Apple would declare another "no new feature" release like Snow Leopard. Take a year to squash out all the bugs in the existing version of OS X and iOS 8. iOS 8.1.2 has been really buggy with iCloud syncing. Documents don't update in the backg…

Apple sold a record number of iPhones in the December quarter, stock goes down 1.5%. Make sense, doesn't it?

IF UBS is confident in its data, its price target would be $125 for next month. A 35% iPhone growth will move the stock massively. I assumed UBS back tested its model against past iPhone sales. What's the outcome of that experiment?

What, a company calling itself "iDevices" is allowed to do business with Apple? Don't you know that Apple owns the letter "i"? /s It looks to be limited to on-off function for now. Still I'm waiting for the multi-port version before parting with my…

Hire me, hire me. For 10% of the bonus I will run the company into the ground 10 times faster. That's 100x more efficient that your chimps with MBAs. Your MBAs teach you all about efficiency right?

For a second, I misread it as PoopPay. Since this is Samsung, it's probably not too far apart. But really, credit card data on the most insecure mobile platform?

Reading article gives me the impression that one cannot use his/her fingerprint to unlock the iPad and must type the passcode. It takes me a minute combing through the comments to find out that's not the case. The iPad can register 5 fingerprints. G…

No one got fired? Let me guess why: because the CEO of Samsung Electronic is the son in law of Samsung Group's Chairman; the Marketing VP is the CEO's cousin on his father's side, twice removed; the COO is CIO's "uncle"; and the Chief Designer's fat…
