What I still don't get is why is it promoted in the panther site? Do you need Panther to use pixlet? Why? I remember when Steve fist talked about AAC - I thought great, another way to rip music - but it was so much more. Now, I think Pixlet and …

I agree with you. This has been a major problem with OS X. It is things like this that give macs a bad name.

We just got a G5 with 1.25 GB ram in today. With 10.2.7 things are fast - no issues there. With 7B68 things are faster but not as much as you would think. The system just behaves better. I opened 20 apps in 7B68 (just in applications folder) and all…

Quote: Originally posted by X X I can understand your sentiments. I saw the first two movies before I read the books. I couldn't wait a year to find out what happened, so for Christmas I received a really nice copy of the trilogy and read them …

Does anybody know if sleep causes problems with an iSub in Panther. In Jaguar, sleeps causes the computer to "loose" the iSub- which requires one to just "replug" the iSub.

What has always amazed me is how worked up people on the right get about things like this. It is like someone raped their kid. The question still remains why we have so many gun-related murders. Anybody here have any ideas?

Quote: Originally posted by Placebo You might be right on that logic. G5s are the main attraction in the Apple Stores, so therefore they usually have over 10 highly demanding apps running at once. Yeh, and with such little Ram - it is a mess.…

Quote: Originally posted by Powerdoc I think the reason why the machines where slow, was 256 MB. Smeagol is not the perfect os for a G5, but i don't see how it can manage to make a G5 slower than a powerbook. I have ordered three G5, and even f…

I just saw a G5 at my local compusa. It is an amazing looking machine. Much nicer than the last MDD machines. Very consistent with Apple's pro image. The machine was a 256 MB, 1.6 Ghz unit with tons of stuff loaded on it. Looking at top indicate…
