I saw the writing on the wall ages ago. Glad I bounced to PC hardware. To be frank, it was easier than I thought, and I've yet to Hackintosh it. $%^& you, Apple. Quote: I can build a similarly powered Windows or Linux workstation for half…

What I use these days: 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 4.2.2.3 as my DNS servers. the first two are google's. This 'google' (some high tech company) seems to have good bandwidth. The last three are some major ISP (I forget who) who ha…

How's that Dell ultrasharp, Marv? I'm'a lookin' at HP's ZR22W. And you seriously notice 6/1000ths of a second lag? Oh, and the Quadro is horrid on the Mac. Ars has a huge article on how bad it sucks. http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/20...c-editi…

Well, ideally they'd update the whole lineup of MBP->iMacs. Quote: This is one of the most certain updates I've ever heard of. In fact, I reckon Otellini will waddle out on stage in an awkward fashion, give a little speech, then pivot round an…

It's true, this is the ultimate fanboy site. The articles are crap. I mostly come here for the rumors and discussions. And comparisons to Ars is just... going to make AI look even worse.

PC gaming may well pass, but to think that Apple will do it, to me, is utterly laughable. I'm bailing on Mac hardware this xmas, when I buy/build a PC that can actually competently run 3D apps. PC gaming is SOTA. Macs are, uh, behind the curve.

I like seeing the anger, disappointment etc in this thread. Feel my pain. The reason I am not posting is because John.B, nvidia2008 and nht are covering all the bullet points so well. Intel's IGP are crap, plain and simple. If they double perf…

All the while pissing off their developers, antennae-gate users, etc. That's incredible, when you think about it. And still MS are 4-5 years behind the curve. Google, who are a rag-tag team of FLOSS hippies are out-executing them. At some point M…

dolphin, and especially Carniphage: Nail on the head. WP may amount to something at some point, but until then, they are remarkably easy to dismiss. Of course if they came out with WP7 4 years ago, they'd own the market. But they were the last…

I think it's high time Microsoft stole some great ideas and integrated them. I think their future relevancy is at stake. That said, you'd think with their R&D budgets they'd be a lot more pioneering. The only thing MS makes that I buy is thei…

That's cool. Though watching TV on an iPad seems like buying a Porshe 911 Turbo to drive to the grocery store and pick up some milk.

I'd pay for Guardian. Especially $8 per year.

I have to agree with the previous posts. And the 'bigger' the site, the more shocking it is.

Quote: Possibly some ubuntu mobile os in the future developed by hard core linux users for hard core linux users. That would be awesome! But I take issue with the notion that Ubuntu is for 'hard core' linux users.

Quote: there is a long range hope for WP7 - all the anti-Android litigation by Apple, Oracle, and MS Oracle doesn't have a case, and at this late in the game, Apple didn't invent touch-based computing, and MS... is years behind the curve, but li…

kotatsu: Quote: way too early to make any judgement on the success or failure of Windows Phone. I'm clairvoyant WP will fail until MS gives it away for free, making money solely off apps in their app store and 'cloud services.' Android …

http://www.fudzilla.com/mobiles/item...ped-by-android Quote: A UK supplier claims that Microsoft's new Windows Mobile 7 is not doing very well against Android. Writing in his blog, Ben Pusey, of Mobiles Please said that Windows Phone 7 has got o…

FTA:Quote: That report also noted that the new WP7 models "are by and large generic phones from well known manufacturers, and in most cases an almost identical model is available from the same manufacturer with Android, and given the choice people …
