i've noticed the same thing. it basically doesn't work right. hope they fix it at some point. i don't like having my tv shows in my movies folder to make it show up. it works but it goes against my sense of organization to have a tv shows folder tha…

i don't think there's a significant advantage to using the computer regularly as a regular user rather than admin because you'd have to type in your admin password to install anything. since right now the only way os x gets malware is by voluntarily…

why not just post it so it's available when people search for the problem?

i can't believe that they're in stores already. i was just at the apple store in santa monica today and the genius helping me said he hoped to get one in in the next couple of weeks just to display.

yeah. i have it on my machine. it's very fast and the interface works pretty well. it's a nice browser. nothing earthshattering, but it works well enough for me to keep in my arsenal. although i'm pretty much a safari and camino user.

the quadrant thing has been dead for years and it was never really a good indication of anything. i don't think apple makes decisions on products based on the assymetry of a keynote slide. i think the paring down on the product line was a result of …

yeah. it's easy. both my brother and i have dual monitor set-ups. i suppose if i wanted to buy another video card i could go up to 4 monitors. i don't know what i'd need four monitors for but it's possible. i think the new powermacs can support up t…

the learning curves for the adobe pro apps are pretty steep. that price is amazingly cheap but it all depends on what you're going to do with it. if you just want to poke around with it, it might not be that fun for you although plenty of folks like…

pretty cool and it does seem consistent with the rumors. but that's a first gen ipod.

i think there's something to it. someone on here once said he was hesitant to buy a quad because it would be a "waste." the odd thing is, the quad isn't some extra fourth highest priced model. it's just the top model of the powermac line. it would b…

i personally never liked 30 fps. it's too sharp looking for me. i've shot one spot at 30 and i thought it looked too much like video.

internal one is a striped SATA II. i have a firewire 800 striped 600Gb one too.

never heard of the earth thing. but usually when that happens it's best to go into your system preferences and make sure you have the system folder for your boot drive selected under "startup disk". it sounds like it's trying to find the system.

according to rob-art at barefeats, apple has switched to a sata controller that won't tolerate Spread Spectrum Clockin (SSC) being enabled on the hard drives. the seagate 7200.9 500Gb drive has SSC enabled. there might be a firmware upgrade coming f…

well, these seagate drives are incompatible with the new powermac. so i guess i won't be installing the raid any time soon.

need some help here. i've installed the sata drives: 1) 1 at a time with the original drive in1st position. 2) together with the system cd 3) together booting off of a firewire drive at no point can disk utility see either of the new drives …
