Well the price is attractive but the games seem a little 1980s influenced. A sideways scrolling runner, a platformer, Frogger and Pac Man: I'm a little disappointed but perhaps there're other genres as yet unannounced.

So we've learned something more about Apple's regression testing.

These guys seem to be living in the past, for many years now you've had to put security foremost in networking products even if it does cause the user some extra steps. Misleading the user on installation isn't good either, let alone hidden reinstal…

This is a good move, I agree. The dialogue surely needs a Cancel button too though: a likely scenario is that the user didn't mean to delete their app that has a subscription at all, perhaps they meant to delete the app next to it.

Presumably we will still be able to rip CDs too? I still buy albums on CD, for a variety of reasons including the obscurity of some, though I almost never listen to them: one rip into iTunes and I have all the convenience of a download. It's also t…

I understand that expectations have been set by the pre-announcement of the Mac Pro and people have been making plans based on it (indeed, that's probably what Apple wanted). So it would be unfair of Apple to back away from updates, whether or not t…

Jony Ive didn't design this, it's a fake! If Ive had designed it, it would blend seamlessly from silver to space grey and it certainly wouldn't have visible connecting rods. Oh how I love the ability to make up stuff on the Internet.

This sort of monitoring has no place after Beta testing: leaving it in production code is an obvious breach of trust. I expect it also breaches Apple's App Store rules; if it doesn't, I'm sure it soon will. It is simply unacceptable to covertly coll…

I played with Alexa the other day on a friend's Sonos: I was impressed and amused. I have never been impressed by Siri. The actual speech parsing is good but the reaction to so many enquiries is just to display a web page on the display; this defeat…

I'm not sure that the kitchen analogy is going to help Apple too much but let's not lose sight of the big picture: * Batteries wear out. However you approach it, that's what happens. Disadvantaged batteries (eg cold) lose their effective charge ver…

I don't think that the speedy sell-out of these phones tells us anything about the demand for a new small iPhone (like the SE). It could just as easily be about the demand for a cheap iPhone. I would love a new small iPhone of approximately SE size…
