Aha, thanks! According to that, my iMac DOES have an airport slot. So does that mean I just have to get an Airport card? And are the cards still available? And is there a cheaper, 3rd party card that would do it?

Aha. That explains it. Thanks.

Because Lexmark evidently does not have a driver for 10.2.8. I looked at Lexmark.com. I did fix the printing problem, somehow. It works. But I still wonder why I have no Print & Fax pane in System Preferences?

Thanks very much for the help. Resetting doesn't do any good (is that all there is to resetting - push the play & menu buttons and wait for the Apple logo, and that's it?). I'll try restoring it. If that still doesn't work, then I guess there…

Thanks for the quick reply. Turns out I was just being an idiot. When I downloaded the document from an email I received, it discombobulated the file name and cut the .doc from the end. Once I added that, it opened automatically in Word, as always. …

Unfortunately, they aren't from the same batch. In most cases, they are CDs that I burned with a stand-alone cd copier, or got from other people. I tried cds that I burned from iTunes, just to see - and they all work perfectly.

47. Bought a 15GB from the Apple Store in Chapel Hill with my education discount. Love it, love it, love it. One complaint: it seems like the way the remote clips on, the buttons are always facing against my body, instead of out. I loaded every …

I'll try safari. Although, for the record, I HATE that built-in spell corrector feature of Word. Sometimes I'm intentionally trying to spell something 'wrong' (slang, for instance) and it won't let me do it the first time.

Sounds like a great deal, but I think it's likely that most people at this forum are all set in the computer department. Ebay is probably the way to go.

Does it really save you that much time to type in that teenager style - "u" instead of "you," etc? Whatever time it saves, it isn't worth it. It looks childish.

Seemed smooth to me; 600 mhz iMac.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Luca. Sounds easy enough. I wonder how I'll manage to screw it up?

Thanks, I'll give that one a try. I was able to get it done using a program called iLabel, but it wasn't ideal either. With AppleWorks, I couldn't even get to the data-entry point. It wanted me to input data from somewhere else (spreadsheet, data…

"they say they can't guarantee optimal performace, but what they're really saying is that they don't want to spend the $ to train support people on X." Okay, but what happens when I DO need support people? Am I going to be hung out to dry? Bel…

This sucks for me, because my local broadband provider (RoadRunner) says they can't guarantee optimal performance with OS X. That's the reason I am staying with 9.2.2. I don't know what kind of problems I'd have, but when your provider says flat-out…
