So, if I understand it correctly, installing 2*512 MB RAM gives me a faster computer then 1*1024 MB due to the 128 bit bus. Another question: the iMac can be upgraded to 2 GB. Is there any use for that? I mean, is it a huge advantage over 1 GB…

OK I became a believer. So the new iMac G5 will be there right in time for the Apple Expo 2004 in Paris (31 aug to 4 sep). Strange though that Apple seemed to have planned a silent update (or did the iMac sell better then they expected?).

Truth is we will see an updated iMac very soon. It is now outpaced by all other macs (eMac included) and very expensive in comparison. Personally, I do not think Apple will dump the 15" model. They need a model between the "expensive" 17" iMac…

March 30 looks like a plausible date for the G5 updates when you look at the cheap memory offering from Apple for G5 and iMac (ends march 27). One glithc in this theory: in Europe this offering expires only on may 8. Anyone an idea? Let's hop…

No more 12" PowerBook? Could be true. One of the local resellers here is selling its "stock" of 12" PB with free bag offering (and some other stuff). They only do this for the 12" product. The 12" screen will eventually become more expensive…

My best guess for Apple's updating strategy: In this order: first the faster G5's (soon) then the PowerBook G5 and third the iMac G5 (mid 2004?) They make a lot more money with the first two.
