I'm gonna try some of your 'tricks' on my grandfather. Last time I went over there I was cleaning his desktop for three hours. And I had installed Panther for him two weeks ago... I just couldn't get him to use the Home Folder.

eyegonomic It's a 60" backlit screen, apparently. I can't find anything on its resolution though.

I just love my Olympus C740UZ. Great camera, although it might be out of your range...

Has anybody had the opportunity to test one of the new cameras from Sharp ? I saw a review of one of them, but it was in Italian. And since my Italian is a bit rusty (let's call it very rusty), I couldn't figure out whether it was compatible with a …

I would definitely go for a dual 1.8 GHz. I have no cash & no use for top of the line performance. It would be great for me if iPhoto & iMovie were at decent speed and I would also like the expandability. My desk is getting crowded with all …

Can both macs access your DVD-burner then ? Or is this just plain old wishful thinking?

That's true, I'll probably do just that. But I'll keep wondering whether it's feasible.

I agree with Leonard, some people don't need all the power of the duals, but can use the expandability. Though it would be great if there was another dual configuration. It's probably just an idea, but I can't convince myself to buy a single config.…

I just got a call that my copy had arrived. Now I'm anxious to get it as soon as possible

I thought the upgrades weren't full installers. They just upgrade from a previous system, if I recall correctly. Those aren't useful for me though, since I intend to give my jaguar cd's to my granddad, so he can install them on his iBook.

To anticipate some answers: I have one of the faulty PM 7200's, so connecting them using AppleTalk is not an option... That never worked. I'd like to try an ftp server on the iMac, but I don't know how I should connect on the PM.

Now that I read about it: this indeed is the most annoying bug/feature in Mail... I wish they put a 'unable to get mail' message instead, as Fuzz_ball suggests.

The iPod is the perfect Trojan Horse. When I told my Pc-buddies I was going to buy a new iPod, they all wanted to buy my old one. They liked the looks and functionality so much, they wanted one too. Marvelous !!!

I think I'm going to hold off til January to buy myself a 15". I don't have the cash right now & maybe this Xmas season will see some nice discounts...

Has anyone tried it out with a Palm ? I tried but couldn't control iTunes... Some ideas, anyone ? I was able to connect to my iMac though

You're right, Kesh... Tried it out & it's working now. Now comes another question. I'm trying to cheat (I know, I shouldn't ) by starting Wolfenstein while pressing the shift key and then entering '+set sv_cheats 1', but when I try using a cod…

Just to clear something up: it's a European (azerty) keyboard. Since we have to use a combination of keys to get a tilde, this doesn't work. Does anyone know whether it's possible to change the command line-key in some editable file ? Grtz
