Probably around $2500, maybe a little less. -'pert

That would be a mistake. To force buyers to choose either G4 and bulky, heavy, unnecessarily large form factor... OR slim, efficient, light form factor but with a G3. How about this, if the 14" must be a G4 and the 12" can't be a G4...…

Apple has a history of having large price differences between high end consumer products and low end pro products. When the Titanium was 400/500, and the iBooks were all 500s, for example. There are other examples. The person who took this al…

Why? Just because it was from SpyMac? It's from their forums, not the actual site. -'pert

MOSR chimes in... I know, I know, it's MOSR, but it's something to debate anyway... G3s up to 800 MHz ATi Radeon Mobility 16 MB Hard drives up to 30 GB 12.1 and 14.1 displays Price difference between display sizes to increase no word on whe…

Sorry but I don't consider the 14" model in January to be a revision, just like the the combo drive revision to the Powerbooks in December wasn't a revision, it was just adding something to the current revision. (Before 4-29) The last rev on both…

No they don't. Especially not in a Powerbook. 733/867 will be more than adequate. I would rather have a Powerbook at 733 MHz with a 5 hour battery than a Powerbook at 1 GHz with a 1.5 hour battery. Not to mention heat. Imagine what Appl…

Maybe Apple didn't want to contradict the "no new cpus" statement. I recall a similar statement made before Apple expo paris last September. Sure enough, no new hardware (computers) at that event. However, in mid-October, the 600 iBook and the 55…

Agreed, Matsu.

I agree. The current one will still be amazing years and years from now.

A 24" with a porpotionally increase in resolution has been rumored for a while now, it could come out in March at MW Tokyo or July at MW New York.

Powerbook rev in March iBook rev in July I'm looking for 667/800 PB's (133 bus on both) and 700 MHz iBooks (100 bus across the line). - Rupert

What is so odd about 1536 x 1024? Seems good to me.

This is on MOSR today: MWNY Powerbook G4: 733, 867 MHz 133 bus on both 1536 x 1024 resolution on both 6 hour battery life on both 30, 48 gig drives (60 gig BTO) ATI Radeon 7500 mobility with 32 MB DDR on both Looks good to me! Hope …

Why would the iBook's 14" display get 1280 x 1024 if the Powerbooks are still stuck at 1152 x 768. Even if the Powerbooks got 1536 x 1024, the iBook (14") would have just as good a resolution as the Powerbook again (like now). -Rupert

Are you implying a higher screen resolution due to the new graphics chip? What other reason would there be to put in a new graphics chip? The current one can already drive 1920 x 1440 on an extermal display. -Rupert

MW Tokyo in March 667, 800 ATI Radeon 7500 w 32 MB DDR 256, 512 30, 48 (60 BTO) 133 bus possibly higher res display (1536 x 1024) This continues Apple's recent trend of making things look like what used to be top of the line, the low end …
