  • Which Client is it? 5.0 might. I used 4.x and could only connect to Lotus Notes servers. Anyway, contacts don't export or imprt well, forget calendar items, and to-dos. Unless you connected to a Notes Server, stick with Outlook Express.
  • The only solution I've ever seen o your dilemma is to create your own web-based front end and run the Access Database through a web server via ODBC connections. Probably doesn't help you though...
  • [code] 1. IE 2. Sibelius 3. Cubase 4. Peak 5. ProTools 6. Dreamweaver 7. Fireworks 8. Netscape 9. Word 10. Any one of the Ambrosia games...
  • If the PR is true, then I'm the happiest man on earth. I still use Vision (although I've been learning Cubase), for most of my "quick and dirty" work. My composition teacher should be pleased as well, as he used to work at Opcode before they wer…
  • Me too. I've got my eye on a MOTU 828 and some other goodies. MOTU will come out with drivers soon I believe. I know that some exist for Linux using OSS, could we use those as well?

  • It's probably the HD. In most environments, it's inaudible, but it does make faint clicks, whirrs and chirps. I guess it would be nice to have these things completly silent. But until everything is fanless and solid state, I'm going to venture th…
  • I have a friend who swapped out a 5400rpm drive for the 4200 stock drive and noticed a 33% increase in speed. He also noticed a 33% drop in battery life. Stupid engineering trade-offs.
  • I've been using the Netgear wireless router and PCMCIA card on a Compaq laptop. I have n't been happy with it. It seems overly suceptable to interference. I have found the the Airport Base Station to be a little better. It handles interference b…
  • [quote]Originally posted by JRC: The Apple IIe was the best, and it's all gone down hill ever since. After I read this post I had to go check up on my old friend. That being my old //e. I still have it in my closet. I still rememb…
  • A more appropriate test would be render times in iMovie, MP3 encode in iTunes, or the traditional Photoshop bake-off. Loading an App? Even if it takes a while, it's in using the app where the time really counts. An extra 2-3 sec on the front en…
  • Just to chime in as an Audio professional: The iMic is actually capable of being a far better audio input device than the standard onboard audio in on ANY Mac. Aside from the aforementioned aspect of being outside of the box, which reduces elect…
  • [quote]Originally posted by I Have Questions: PS - the JBLs in the Apple window are the Apple matte white. Really? They looked pretty glossy to me... But maybe they're coming out with matte versions...
  • With regards to the which is better Apple or Resellers like MacMall or MacWarehouse, it always makes more sense to order from the Resellers because of the freebies. Here's why: Resellers are prevented from selling Macs below the minimum ad…
