FTC wants Facebook to stop rolling out new services until it can guarantee user privacy
FB long ago became pretty useless. I only get a few updates from friends and groups I am in (where the value lies) and a fees filled with sponsored and “suggested for you” articles, most by people I’ve never heard of, and most poorly written, with very little information (just filler text), and the page with the article is 75% ads.Instead of content supported by ads, FB is ads supported by meager content.I mainly stay on FB to maintain links to friends and acquaintances from my past. I don’t read most articles and NEVER click on ads. If an ad looks interesting I’ll search for them outside of FB. A few articles I read that are from known established sources I follow. And they’re not political in nature but usually related to cars or history. -
Ford will stick with CarPlay as GM exits for Google tech
mikethemartian said:Why would a company give control of its product to another company? But they’ve (auto companies) have already given up control of their product. Ist vehicles today use standard transmissions and even engines in some cases, and lots of other standard parts, that come from third parties and are merely tuned to their needs. Much different from when I was a kid. -

Dooofus said:Wow! As if there weren't already enough reasons to not buy GM products. As mentioned in other comments, Barra is delusional. Kind of like S Ballmer when he was at MS and the iPhone came out. -
'Sid Meier's Railroads!' iOS review: railway history with challenges
Sid Meier was behind the Original “Railroad Tycoon/Railroad Tycoon II” games and I think “Railroad Tycoon III”. This sounds like the next iteration of those games based on description.I first saw Railroad Tycoon on a friend’s PC in 1992. I played it at his house overnight and immediately purchased the Max version and ran it on my LC. I played tons and tons and went to RRT2 when available.I’ll try this out as these were fun games. I hope they have larger campaign modes ? -
New York and San Antonio cops differ on tracking stolen cars with Airtags
JP234 said:Yep, no matter where you live in this country, no matter how well you're armed, you should call the cops. A law abiding citizen has no business engaging in potentially violent or fatal interactions with criminals. However the above statement could be taken as all inclusive (not just AirTag equipped cars being tracked). Unfortunately we don’t always get a chance to choose when a criminal engages us. He comes barreling into my home (home invasion) the cops will be called asap but the criminal will also be violently engaged immediately.
