  • Apple Watch study says you need to get more sleep

I wear it at night.  I specifically made the decision to do so and formed a routine of setting it to charge before I go to bed.  I don’t usually need to charge it during the day.  I will occasionally do a quick top off in the morning if I remember while I am doing my morning routine.  But I usually forget.  But since I got the latest a few months ago I’ve had no issues with battery.  Previously I was in a series 4 and that battery had degraded such that by evening it was often in its last legs.

Besides sleep tracking I like the way it wakes me up for alarms.  Doesn’t make noise to wake up my better half.

( I still use the series 4 when doing “rough” work where possible screen damage could happen.  We’re building a house using ICF and when I am working with rebar or similar I’ll switch watches).

  • UK police shocked to discover taser disguised as iPhone

Taser is "WTF! Keep us out of this!"

The original report properly calls it an "electroshock weapon".
Yeah, semantics are fun, but do you also call velcro "hook and loop fasteners" because you want to avoid the brand? I've never once heard a real-life person call a device like this an "electroshock weapon."

Writing has to be understood, and people understand what a taser is. :)
Actually the generic term for these things is “stun gun”, not taser.  A taser usually involves wires and hooks being shot at you and releasing the voltage to you.  While some tasers do have the contact method of operation like a stun gun, that is ancillary to its normal mode of operation.

When you hear of someone being tased by a cop it is almost always being shot by the hooked wires and voltage applied.  Not a stun gun application.

  • Apple's plan to saturate all ages with iPhone, iPad and Mac is working

I’m leaving the Apple ecosystem as software integration is junk status. Google uses 3 year old hardware and gives a seamless experience. Siri is a huge part of the dysfunction.
Fred, are you one of these “AI” bots?   Your text attributed to you sounds like it was written by one.

It's my experience that the over 45 crowd, particularly among developers, are Russian bot-level prejudiced against Apple products. The propaganda twisted crap that comes out of their mouths would make the trolls on the AI forums blush.
Interesting.   I’ve not noticed that.   The anti Apple problem I’ve seen have been of all adult ages.  I’m a SE engineer and in my 50s and wouldn’t ever go to a non Apple platform for my main work.   And most of the developers I hang with are in my same age bracket.

Thank you for the “volts hurt, amps kill”  line and the reference to current.   Those without understanding of electricity might be shocked by the 650kV being bandied about (no pun intended).

Also, as has been noted in the comments.   This is not a taser, which is a brand of electroshock device.  This is just a generic electroshock device.
