  • Apple may want more Sunday Ticket flexibility than NFL will give

Good luck on getting any concessions from the NFL, NBA or even MLB. If Congress really wanted something to do that would help people they would go after professional sports, forcing them to provide TV access to everyone instead of just specific cable/satellite channels. Professional sports are the same as auto dealerships, pharmaceuticals and the UAW, they are all corrupt and have bought politicians.

Why should they be forced to do anything? Why is everyone entitled to access? If you want it, pay for it.
When they start paying for their own stadiums and everything else instead is sucking at the government teat I’ll be there right behind you supporting that argument.   As it stands they are protected monopolies sucking at the government teat taking all sorts of tax payer money and enjoying government protection and exemptions from laws.   The tax payer ought to get something in return.  Android not just high ticket prices and concession prices.

Generally I am against government regulation and agree in principle with “why should they be forced to do anything “.   But if such things as government teats have to exist and they want that largesse they’ve put themselves into the position to be regulated and told what to do.

One of this affects me personally (above paying taxes) as I don’t watch sports and couldn’t care less about pro sports.

  • Rollercoaster repeatedly triggers iPhone 14 Crash Detection

G-forces that look like a crash can happen for shock.   A pothole can look like a crash to a sensor except it’s in the vertical direction and your car’s sensors know this.

Apple’s problem is it’s hard to know which way is up for a phone because 1g in the negative z-direction is easily overcome on a rollercoaster.

Their algorithm to detection needs adjustment.

To disable, use airplane mode on the rollercoaster.   Siri can do this.  Too bad there isn’t a 5 minute timer.

In a real crash, a 5-minute timer could make the difference between life and death. This is really a non-issue. For the fraction of a % of the population that is on a roller coaster that would trigger crash detection, they should simply turn it off when they walk in the gates. Takes all of 5 seconds.
He didn’t say 5 minute timer to report the crash or cancel. He said a 5 minute time for siri putting the phone into airplane mode or disabling the detection. Ie Siri disables but it auto enables after 5 min.

    * apply location - am i located on a road at time of high G force.
    * use ML to look at historical data based on location of false positives etc. Am I in a location of high false positives.

    Nope.
Do not want the device to need a reliable network connection capable of fetching the data you propose when determining whether this is a serious accident.
Either way, what does a local road have to do with the determination of an accident?! If I am t-boned or rear-ended by someone driving at excessive speeds, I don't want the device to make a bad determination because I happen to be on a local road.
While I agree with you that the phone or watch is not likely to have access to much of this information at the time of a crash, I wonder how you got “local road” out of this comment?  It just says “road” and in fact, if the phone could reliably have the location information at the time of the crash it would be helpful to weed out some of the false positives.  If my location is in the middle of an amusement park I am unlikely to have been on a crash (unless my job is driving a cart around the amusement park).

  • Apple 27-inch mini LED display expected in early 2023

Got a pair of the new March 2022 Studio Displays along with my maxed out Mac Studio main computer. This is a light years jump from my two 2013 27" Apple Thunderbolt displays and 2013 MacPro (trash can) with 128GB of ram and a 2TB SSD. No complaints here.
I think your screen name is apt.
