  • Parents can now manage children's Apple Watches with Family Setup

It was going to get handed down to my son and I was going to get a 6. Looks like I'll be using the 3 for another year.
Is that because the Watch Series 6 doesn't have what you want or because your son has been bad?
I was hoping to give my old 3 to my son, but can't.  I have a cell AW5 and wasn't planning on upgrading.  But I don't think my son is ready for an iPhone, so the idea of him having just the watch was appealing.  I'm sure there is a valid reason AW3 isn't supported, but oh well.

Nice idea, shame you can't use an Apple Watch 3 for that service. Wonder what in the world Apple Watch 4 has that supports it but the 3 doesn't?
Family setup requires cellular. Not sure what else. The current Series 3 doesn't come with cellular; just GPS.
So you are saying my AW3 that I have is a one of a kind?  It has the big red dot and everything.

Because it isn't.  AW3 had cellular service.

  • Apple paying up to $500 million to settle iPhone battery slowdown lawsuits

    hodar said:
$500 Million.  All Apple had to do was throw up a pop-up window saying "iPhone Battery is degraded, the performance of this iPhone will be reduced, to prolong useable iPhone battery life."

Then, the user of the iPhone would know his performance was degraded, and why; and he could make the decision whether the degradation of performance was worth the cost of replacing the battery.
All they had to do was not change the behavior of the phone, just let it start crashing.  In lieu of doing nothing, they should have been more forthcoming when it was first discovered that Apple was slowing down phones with degraded batteries.

This entire issue doesn't make the main stream news if the messaging of what they were doing to your phone was crystal clear.  It ended up looking like the claim they were doing it to help keep your phone alive longer was just covering their rears, since the tone from Tim was dismissive and after being "caught".

  • Apple under 'great pressure' to respond after investors criticize China app removals

Perhaps Apple should ask the shareholders whether it is ok for them to withdraw all business from China.

A classic example of (as we say in Germany) “wash me, but don’t make me wet.”
I'd be ok with it.  I don't value money over freedom.  If more American, and free, companies would sack-up and tell China no then change would happen there. Just imagine if the NBA and Apple both said to China "if you want to get your panties in a bundle over freedom, we will shut down China sales/participation".  Does anyone realize just how quickly China could be changed if there wasn't kowtowing by companies like Apple and the NBA who are looking to protect money?

  • Everything that has been said so far about Apple's 'iPhone SE 2'

I'd rather see the 4" screen than the sub $500 price.  If they increase the screen size there is very little product variation other than price and face ID.  Granted the A13 will make it future proof for 5 more years, but I'd love to have one of these guys as a backup device / ipod if it weren't so massive.
