I have liked our Ring doorbell. I was going to expand on my deployment of Ring products based on the doorbell. But now all things Ring will go the way of Nest. If it doesn’t conform to HomeKit, then it doesn’t have a place in my home.
It's a doorbell camera. Who cares if it's HomeKit, Alexa or Google compatible as long as it has the app. You don't need to set scenes for doorbell or turn on/off. It's always on with motion detection.
I care. Looming Homekit is why I bought the Ring Pro recently. I want it on HomeKit so I can view the motion alerts on my apple watch.

  • Spotify runs $99 annual subscription promo to challenge Apple Music

Spotify is a nonstarter for me unless they get a standalone Watch app.

  • Dual batteries, layered logic boards revealed in iPhone X teardown

I find every part of the ifixit reviews helpful except the obsolete “repairability” score. I’m never going to risk a user repair when the geniuses can do it under warranty, LOL.

Not everyone keeps their phones only until warranty is up.  I personally have replaced a lot of things on my phones over the years (screen on 3G, lock button/speaker/screen on 4S, screen on 6) and like the fact the repair-ability score.  I can tell you that Apple must pay attention too because each phone has been easier and easier to replace the screen.  That 3G screen was the WORST to repair.  The 6 took about 5 minutes and I had never done one and just watched a tutorial video.

With that said, no phone will ever be able to be waterproof and easy to repair.  If you want to keep water out you have to use some serious sealant, and that means tough to open.  I'm good with that.

  • Users continue to experience sluggishness, battery life problems in iOS 11 after multiple ...

ios11 has been causing issues for me, but i'm still on a 6.  I can't make it through a day anymore, where I could just fine a month ago.  I also have a lot of sluggishness just trying to type a text, the letters are about a second behind what I type.

I haven't done a restore from new through, and have heard that could solve the issue.  Don't have the time for that right now, so not really complaining too much since I haven't done what's been suggested.

  • Rumor claims Apple cutting iPhone 8 production orders in half

I could see this as happening.  This is purely anecdotal but I don't know a single person with an iPhone 8.  Everyone either is sticking with their current iPhone or wanting to wait to see what the X actually has going for it.  No one seems to care about wireless charging. Everyone that wasn't a die hard Apple ecosystem person went to Android if wireless charging was a big deal.  If they wanted it and are part of the Apple Ecosystem then they are wanting the better phone so waiting for X.  Doesn't leave a lot of demand for the 8.

Just my opinion and not hating on Apple.
