  • So far, Apple is struggling to market Apple Vision Pro

Could be wrong because if anything the OG Apple Watch and the first two or three versions of WatchOS were bad enough that the watch wound up being pointless.
Apple Watch was super useful for me even with the first and second generation of the watch and OS.  I lost over 50 pounds in 2015/2016 and ran my first 1/2 and full marathons in large part due to the motivation and workout info provided by the Activity app.  The notification of calls and texts were also super helpful.  They were certainly not pointless devices or operating systems.

  • Apple will pause U.S. Apple Watch sales starting December 21

Build or assemble more in the US 😄

Nothing to do with a patent. but carry on ....

@pwrmac If the Apple Watch was manufactured in the USA then this ruling would have no effect.  You can’t effectively ban imports to the USA if the product isn’t coming from outside the USA. The larger civil trial over the patent validity/infringement/damages is separate from the import ban.

  • California wants to end Cupertino's tax deal with Apple

Governments do not create value and take from the productive through taxes. Parasites.
…which is used to build and support the civil and social infrastructure corporations require to exist. If you want to claim parasite, look no further than corporations and billionaires that leech onto infrastructure yet pay no income tax. (Apple however is the biggest US taxpayer)

Billionaire paying the highest tax bill in history.  What billionaire paid no income tax?  Trump isn’t a billionaire by the way.

  • Epic asks U.S. Supreme Court to enforce lower court's App Store order

Funny thing is if Apple loses it only helps other developers but not Epic since they’re banned from
    The App Store.
That’s correct. Under no scenario would Apple have to allow Epic back in.

Moreover, numerous courts all over the world have ruled that Apple is 100 percent entitled to charge a fee for creating, running, and administering the App Store, and that such a fee would be applicable **even if** Apple itself or some other authority made them accept payments from alternative providers.

Mind you, as noted previously, 85 percent of developers don’t pay any fee at all, and small developers who do less that $1million/year don’t pay 30 percent, so there’s little chance at this stage that any court is going to find the fees excessive.

EXACTLY.  Why did Apple start a fight with Epic.  Epic created a video game that people liked. Someone or people at Apple need re-evaluation.  Epic was paying the fees.  They didn't skip on the bill and steal a gettaway car. And get into a car chase.
Not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not.  Epic absolutely updated their app with an outside payment system (in violation of TOS) specifically to avoid paying 30% to Apple on the transaction.  Epic claimed that the rate was a criminally monopolistic rate to charge developers.

I was really looking forward to this one, but the strike is more important, without a doubt. Oh well. We can always hope they pick it up again in a few years.
Streaming services were already a thing in 2008 when they had the last writers strike and new contract. Can you please give a synopsis for those of us not in the industry with what writers think needs to change and why?
