  • Apple releases iOS 13.4, iPadOS 13.4, watchOS 6.2, tvOS 13.4, macOS 10.15.4

Regrettably, the bug fix for what Apple Suport called a known issue, isn’t in this update. Had hoped today would be the day that Reminders worked again.  :'(

The known issue is where someone who elected to delay the migration to the new Reminders data format, and then migrated later, the iOS Reminders app is unable to sync with iCloud, even though Macs running Catalina can. The iCloud reminders can also be shared to other iOS devices. They just won’t sync to the original device. Factory Resets are inaffective in resolving the issue. I’ve tried twice, once with an Apple Store Genius’ actively working with me, to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

  • State-sponsored Mac malware easily repurposed by ex-NSA hacker

So how does someone get ahold of state sponsored hacking tools? Maybe I’m missing something, but it sounds like he’s saying you can just get them and repurpose them as if they’re freely available, and that doesn’t sound right.
Put another way, if an official of country X claims country Y is responsible for some malware, all that may mean is that country X's  three letter organizations repurposed code from country Y. As for how country X acquires country Y code, there have been a number of leaks, including from NSA. If Wikileaks can get a catalog of NSA exploits & malware, as they have done, then it stands to reason that malfeasant actors can also get copies of said code. If nothing else, there are all sorts of resources on the dark web.

  • Apple cancelled encrypted iCloud plans after the FBI complained

All this does is drive customers to companies that do offer encrypted cloud storage, just as was the case with ITAR regulations concerning SSL support in browsers during the Clinton Administration. It undermines American businesses by preventing them from offering a service that is competitive with their foreign competitors.

  • Here are all the big new features & changes in iOS 13.3 & iPadOS 13.3

Reminders still no longer sync between Apple Watch & my iPhone... Had really really hoped this update would fix this. From what I can tell, all of us that delayed the migration of Reminders on first launch have wonky results and those of you that migrated immediately on first launch are fine. Deleting all my lists and manually recreating them and all their content doesn’t resolve the issue. If you haven’t upgraded to 13.x, recommend you stay on 12.
