The same Marsha Blackburn that is vehemently against Net Neutrality because her top 6 campaign contributors are ISPs and media companies? She obviously doesn't know anything about technology and votes according to keep that money flowing.

As a user I love choice. But as a developer, all I can see is this opening up piracy of apps and cheap knock-offs of apps we've worked hard to produce. Honestly I can go either way. Apple has burned me as a developer in the past because of their rules which was a total gray area and more lack of understanding on their part. They have also burned me as a user banning apps that were previously in the store that I paid for. I doubt this will get anywhere, but could be interesting.

Apple aside I don't understand a lot of the companies "demanding" remote workers coming back, especially to the Bay area. Cost for having office space there is sky high. We have gobs of data showing remote workers are as or more productive than at the office. Workers are working longer hours (offset by not having to spend 2-3 hours a day commuting).

Companies could more easily diversify and spread hubs throughout the country. Reduce the amount spent in SV, bring up other communities all while saving money.

I'd add those categories aren't nearly as saturated as the Mac and iPad. I wonder how the growth will hold as more and more get wearables over time.

They kind of have already. They closed their one store in East Texas in order to avoid being sued in Marshall Texas.

Those who’d rather stay home will have plenty of time to do just that when they’re looking for another job.

Those who work at Apple will have no trouble finding other jobs if remote is what they desire. Tech companies are throwing insane amounts of money at engineers right now. Talent is not easy to acquire and there is so much competition. The smart ones are offering options with remote only along with these offers. We have had countless no-shows once candidates make it to the "onsite" portions of the interview process because they already have three offers in hand. Just got done paying off someone's entire four year sign on bonus from a previous employer so we wouldn't miss out.
