One of the reasons for a decreasing market is likely to do with the increasing unit prices - people are naturally holding on to them for longer or tying themselves into longer contracts in order to keep the monthly cost down. I've had almost every iPhone generation that's been released, but as I detest tie in contracts with network-locked phones (as well as their increasing prices), I simply couldn't stomach the very high cost of buying into the latest model this year. I'll wait for the next one at the end of the year and, most likely, will have to wait for the beginning of 2019 for supply to equal demand and for cash to be available to spend.

Apple's quality is pretty much as good as it needs to be, but I'm concerned that the very high pricing is going to end up being reflected in reduced unit sales if they keep up the trend. Clearly that won't affect the profitability - at their volumes, that's not going to happen, but it will still reflect in overall market stats. 

Incidentally, the situation is the same with other manufacturers - the Samsung S9 is also hideously expensive as well. At some point the market is going to squeeze back.

That wouldn't work - the investigators would just solder a new one on.

The EU already has a tax based on revenue. It's called VAT (Value Added Tax).

In addition, the European Commission does not have the right to raise taxes. That privilege is - for the time being - reserved to the sovereign treasuries of the EU member states.

This is a case of the EU massively overstepping its competencies and a Commission that, yet again, acts without any democratic mandate.

I'm very glad that the UK has voted to kick it to the kerb.

I have to concur - the only way they made it sound this good has to be total witchcraft.

The bass response on the speaker is phenomenal, the clarity is utterly out of this world. 

I bought it yesterday mainly because I am 'steeped' in Apple technology and I had some spare cash to splash... I wasn't particularly expecting hearts and kisses from the thing but I have to say I'm overjoyed that I did buy it. I can't wait until the functionality to link two together in one room is available - I won't hesitate for a second to get a second one at that point. I can imagine the sound that two of them together will produce will be completely immersive.

Parallels isn't the only virtualisation application available for the Mac - you've also got VMWare Fusion, which is absolutely excellent and comes in two versions depending on what features you want and isn't too expensive (I use it all the time). There's also VirtualBox, which is free.
