Despite what you may have heard, don't write off the iMac just yet
NYC362 said:Turning the Mac Studio Display into a 27" iMac can't take all that much work.
The display is the same at the 27" iMac that went away a couple years ago. It already has speakers, power supply, camera (with center stage), fans, and USB-C/Thunderbolt ports. All it needs is the logic board from a MacBook Pro. a headphone jack, add a couple more Thunderbolt ports, and, poof!, it's an iMac.
Another thought would be for Apple to offer a standalone 24" 4.5K display with same industrial design to mate with the 24" iMac. (To my knowledge, nobody offers a 24" 4.5K display of any design.) -

New 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro sport M3, and come in black

I noted that they mentioned more than a few times how much better things would be for those still on Intel Macs (rub it in, why don't ya!), and in particular, how the 24" iMac M3 was offered as a replacement for either the 21.5" or 27" Intel iMacs. I wonder if that means we won't see a larger iMac any time soon. -

'Scary Fast' iMac with M3 is here with few external changes
As others in this thread noted, the 24" iMac M3 was offered as a replacement for either the 21.5" or 27" Intel iMacs. That seemed odd to me. I wonder if that means we won't see a larger iMac any time soon (if ever).
Maybe we'll see a 24" iMac with M3 Pro or M3 Ultra -- in Space Black -- before too long. Matching 24" 4.5K displays would be nice too.
I'd still prefer an M3 Pro or Ultra 27" 5K iMac though. They don't need to make them bigger. I think a 27" 5K all-in-one can be a sweet spot between price, performance, and design.
