  • Next Mac mini will have M2 and M2 Pro Apple Silicon chip options

If the Studio Display can power a MBP, maybe it could power a new Mac mini. I guess that might mean a return to external power bricks for the mini, which has downsides, but it sure would make for a neat desktop arrangement.

(I still don't get why anyone would expect a desktop cpu -- other than an AIO-- to include a microphone).

  • Apple hints at new Apple Silicon Mac Pro during its latest keynote

Why would anyone even want an iMac Pro now? The Mac Studio and Studio Display with integrated camera and audio seems to fill that need with a really good price/performance ratio. And at least you can upgrade to a different Mac in the future and keep the monitor.

I noticed there is no 27" iMac on the Apple website now. (Given how Apple trashed the performance of the current 27" iMac in todays keynote, can't say as I blame them). I'd be curious to see if the M1 iMacs will become available in a ~27" version.  The AIO concept is still attractive for a lot of general needs, so maybe a larger monitor iMac version with the same CPU/RAM options as the 24" will show up in the near future. Similar to how the internals of the 14" and 16" MBP are pretty much the same.

  • 'Mac Studio' and new Apple display are 'ready to go' for Apple Event

Hmm, I wonder if having iOS in the display means that it will support Sidecar style wireless connectivity...

BTW, I am using Sidecar with an 11" iPad Pro on a 2018 13"MBP Intel. At the same time, I have an old iPad Air (1st gen) connected to the MBP using the YAM app (connected via USB-C). The result is a very compact triple monitor workstation. The sharpness (pixel pitch) of the iPads match nicely with the MBP display.

  • Five Galaxy S22 Ultra features which should be on the iPhone

    "...should be on the iPhone"?

"...might be nice to have..." is as much as I would give it. Plus, even the "free AirPods" aren't really free, as comment #2 above has pointed out.

PS: The article mentioned the iPhone charging brick being eliminated with the iPhone 12. I was OK with this once I got my 13, since I have a lot of lightning cables on older USB A chargers, but given that the included lightning cable is USB-C, it seems like Apple could have included a USB-C based charging brick for a while to help with the transition, or at least included a discount coupon for one with every new phone. I just ran into a situation where a USB-C charger would have been convenient and I didn't happen to have one around amongst the drawer full of USB A chargers.
