I would just as soon avoid touching the screen on my iMac, especially since the OS isn't really geared to touch. However, if you happen to have a macOS app that is designed to work with touch, consider a Mac mini or MacBook with a separate touchscreen monitor. Elo, 3M, Viewsonic and many others have pro-cap screens. Also, PQ Labs has an IR frame that can overlay an iMac (or any other display) for touch. Most touch screens use drivers made by Touch Base, which support multi-touch on macOS (not sure about M1 though).

Being able to drive over to one of the local Frys in SoCal and pick up a cable or connector adapter or other tech items like KVM switches and network gear the same day has been a life saver on so many projects over the years.

Of the Frys that I have visited, my favorite theme is the Sci-Fi/special-effects Frys in North Hollywood. That UFO "crashed" into the store facade is pretty cool.

PS: I have to say that Best Buy has gotten better in the past few years. Of course they don't have the technology selection of a Frys, but they do have a good store layout and integration with their online operation is pretty good. They seem pretty well organized and they'll price match Amazon, B&H and some other online retailers. Still, I can't imagine Best Buy picking up the brick & mortar market that Frys leaves behind. I wonder if anyone will?

Sounds as if you're looking at this as if it's a co-branding project.  As in an Apple branded Niro for example. Apple isn't looking to simply attach their tech to a Kia.  I don't think that's what either company has in mind.  I think the relationship will be Kia serving as an OEM Manufacturer, like Foxconn or Wistron.  Kia as a contract manufacturer makes sense.  They are located in the US, have capacity, and can scale tooling and machining to contract manufacture Apple's design specifications without affecting Hyundai's growing reputation.

I'm not thinking of co-branding. I would seem obvious that, if my guess is correct and Apple will be going with an EV Hybrid, they'd be looking at a factory which has existing infrastructure to make such a vehicle for Apple. If they have a number of lines for the Sorento, then these lines would either need to be "duplicated" for Apple, or reconfigured for Apple -- by necessity, then, an Apple vehicle would initially have much in common with the Sorento. If the Niro vehicles are made elsewhere, it's likely Apple's vehicle would not have too much in common with the Niro. 

It doesn't really matter what types of vehicles are produced in the Kia factory (or any modern car factory) now. They can be tooled to assemble just about any kind of car. Specialized components or sub-assemblies (including motors, batteries, and entire drivetrains) can be brought in from other suppliers (either foreign or domestic). As a matter of fact, many if not most foreign car assembly plants are essentially "screwdriver" plants that focus on final assembly of major components manufactured elsewhere.

You do not need iTunes to upload music anymore. Just enter “How to upload music to an iPhone” in your browser for the latest options.

I don't think you can play music files from the Files folder. Even if you could, transferring files onto a hard drive from a computer, then transferring to an iPad to play them seems like an extra step when you can just plug your iPhone/iPad directly to your computer to transfer the files.

It is true that you no longer need iTunes, but only if you have a Mac with macOS Catalina or Big Sur. If you have macOS Mojave or older or a Windows PC, you still need iTunes to transfer music: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201253

Except you have no idea what they are working on. Why does it have to be a complete car designed by Apple? I can easily see an Apple car co-designed by Apple and existing car manufacturer. It could still be an Apple car. "Designed in California manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi."

Apple doesn't do what everyone expects. They are very good at surprising the markets if you haven't noticed. I still suspect it will be nothing though.

Partnering with someone is pretty different than hiring them as an OEM. It is actually possible that Apple would use a manufacturing strategy like they do for all their other hardware products but I'm not sure you can hire an OEM car manufacturer. History says that Apple doesn't manufacture their hardware products, they hire someone to do it. What contract car manufacturers are out there--not snark, I honestly don't know if they exist.
