  • FireWire may finally be dead in macOS 26 & Apple isn't looking back

I still use that 2011 iMac model as a home desktop. I will have to replace it soon as browsers stopped updating for the most recently supported OS. I keep a backup drive on it that connects by FW800.

  • Patent licensing firm targets Apple's 3G cellular technology in new lawsuit

Weird how they're going after this at the tail end of 3G. At least AT&T appears to be discontinuing 3G about 6 months from now.

    Seriously? "The old-fashioned Touch ID"?

Why use such loaded language? It's not old-fashioned, it's just different. Works better with masks, allows use under a table without being a distraction to others, and various other advantages. Sure, faceID also has advantages, but those 2 words are just oddly biased and completely unnecessary.

Read the sentence with other options, like "traditional", i.e.
The traditional Touch ID sensor is still in use below the display.

Or better yet, and more professional, no biased words at all, i.e.
The Touch ID sensor is still in use below the display.

Because there's a newer style placed on the edge on the new mini, for example.

  • Apple says clean Apple Card with a microfiber cloth, avoid contact with leather and denim

How about the Apple Card® Socks?
Knowing how this is going, I wouldn't put it past them to offer cashmere card socks.

    Story:
Interestingly, certain fabrics like leather and denim could permanently discolor the card's matte white finish, which is achieved through a multi-layer coating process. That same coating might be damaged if it comes in contact with hard surfaces or materials.

And apparently despite the (implied fancy) multi layer coatings it's at risk of discoloration from most wallets.

Jesus I’ve never seen so many people worried about credit card wear before. All of my cards are worn, and guess what? Do not give a shit. This is absurd. This is not a fail. This is not a problem for anyone except those without problems.
When they go to the effort of making a fancy metal card I think that changes the equation from any of the usual plastic cards.

  • Apple urges iPhone Upgrade Program members to get 'head start' on iPhone X order process

Seems premature to get angry at an unsubstantiated rumor but that seems to be what this site is about.
