M4 MacBook Air review: More power than ever, at a lower price point
My jump MBA wise was from a 2015 13 inch MBA with a wonky screen hinge to the M4 15 inch in sky blue. I am glad I went the extra real estate as this particular machine isn’t needing to be as portable as my other work windows machine and personal M4 IPP. But when I do take it somewhere put up with the extra weight for the bigger screen.
an incredible difference as you can imagine. Apart from the outright instant snappiness of safari (LOL), there is the awesome screen difference, the silence, and a 20 hour battery (according to Istat menu) compared with the 20 minutes on the old MBA, all are amazing. I must admit though I would have liked the sky blue to be a tad more blue. -

New M4 MacBook Air is great, but MacBook Pro still commands Apple's laptop business
I am not sure this has always been the case. The MBA suffered in recent times because it was priced too closely to the MBP. But even when Apple deliberately crippled the MBA with slow updates and a crappy screen compared with the rMB, it still outsold it by a wide margin. It is still the machine of choice at our BYOD school. And of course this year the M4 in the base model MBP and the relatively high price of the M3 MBA meant that it was a very hard decision to go M3 MBA. Hence the price drop. Even with the price drop, higher spec MBAs would have a better margin than the base MBP. -
