One the one hand having the AW exclusively for iPhone drives iPhone sales for those android users that really want an AW.
I doubt there are that many though.On the other hand there might be reasons a person doesn’t have an iPhone, or iPhone is not accessible for a time, but they might have an iPad or a Mac.The gripping hand is enabling an AW to sync across all Apple devices makes the AW more accessible to a larger number of users, potentially increasing AW sales.

But in the future, Apple wants algorithms built into the iPhone to infer a user's mood from their speech, the words they type, and other information stored on their devices.Wouldn’t that require the iPhone to be always listening? I am not sure that is desirable.
there is always the half joking speculation Facebook does this. Mrs entropy and I were discussing tinnitus the other day. Next thing she gets a ad on Facebook about tinnitus. Neither of us had looked at anything online. -

Agree, I was going to mention this thing’s true competitor was the Remarkable. Which has similar pricing but a crippling subscription.
I have used a remarkable, and it is better at note taking than my IPP. Think of it as a specialised tool. But the IPP is a vastly superior all round device.
