  • Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak hospitalized over possible stroke

    Sending well wishes his way.

He left Apple in 1985, but has remained a "ceremonial employee of Apple" according to online bios at Wikipedia (and elsewhere.)

  • Apple gifts influencers AirPods Max before Monday's 'Spatial' event

Never heard of him till his video kicked up a storm. He has more than 3.6M followers on social media. He's been at it for nearly 16 years. Several articles say he's not the only influencer to receive the package. I have yet to see anyone else post, but that doesn't mean he's lying or he's the only one that received the gift box.

I'm not looking to make any more Apple purchases (besides iPhone 15 Pro Max in a few weeks), but I'll be watching at 8pm and will see if anything intrigues me. Haven't had an iMac in about a dozen 14 years, so any upgrade would be huge for me.

  • Apple TV+ cancels 'The Afterparty' after two seasons

I actually like Season 2 better than the first. Not entirely surprised with the cancellation. The concept would be hard to replicate for a third season. Not to mention the strikes by the writers and actors (ongoing) probably made continuation too difficult.

  • Brothers behind massive Apple counterfeiting scam are jailed

Kind of hard to argue that crime doesn't pay when the punishment is so limited. They made off with millions and have to forfeit a portion. And their spouses just received probation. Everyone involved should have gotten jail time.

  • Google is being sued after bad map directions led a man to his death

One would think Google would implement timely updates after being sued for similar faulty info in the past. And I can't believe the victim blaming and outrageous claims/assumptions about the victim. A bit of digging from news stories years before the tragedy and looking at the attorney's filings show this isn't a case of a "money grab" or "sue everybody in sight" strategy. The named parties are all partially responsible for this man's death.

Tragically, as he drove cautiously in the darkness and rain, he unsuspectingly followed Google’s outdated directions to what his family later learned for nearly a decade was called the “Bridge to Nowhere,” crashing into Snow Creek, where he drowned. The complaint alleges Hickory residents repeatedly tried to get Google Maps to route traffic away from the washed-out, collapsed bridge, and to get the owners of the hazardous private road/bridge to fix the danger and erect proper barriers and warning signs until it was safe.
