Apple's AirTag safety features credited for arrest of stalker
GeorgeBMac said:Xed said:That's not how the law works. Even buying a "burner iPhone" that is activated would have a trail. It would likely be easy enough to see that the iPhone and AirTags were both purchased by and activated by the so-called victim and that the so-called stalker was no where near these places when it happened.
Perhaps. But in today's "I believe the victim" (without evidence) mentality, the investigation you speak of may never happen. -
Man convicted & sentenced for million-dollar fake iPhone return scheme
He was essentially sentenced to time served since he's been jailed since arrest. And AI should've included this tidbit:
What a dope buying a condo with cash. Nothing says ill-intent more than a large cash purchase coupled with high activity with the same damn company.Judge Sullivan previously ordered Wu to forfeit his interests in two condominium units, one in McLean, Virginia, the other in Arlington, Virginia. Wu purchased the Arlington condominium for cash during the conspiracy. -
One Georgia school system will hand MacBook Air or iPad to every student
rob53 said:I have no problem with students getting good computer hardware or access to coding, I just wish schools would encourage students to exercise their brains, hands and legs doing something other than pushing buttons (I see this problem being caused by administrators not the students). I want to see students develop their artistic capabilities including bringing back technical arts classes as well as home economics. I’ve see too many kids not know how to cook, sew or clean their houses. These are basic things kids either aren’t taught or refuse to learn. We don’t need any more lawyers or accountants, we need people who can build things with their hands. This exercises the entire brain and body making for a much healthier country and economy.
The iPads and MBAs are just one tool for students and instructors in all of the programs. -
Apple Maps applies reality distortion field to hide Tim Cook's house
Clickbait with a dash on nostalgia!
As another poster said, there is a process to remove/blur homes from Google Street View available to others. And info on Cook's homes (this condo, his former main residence and his new-ish $10.5M mansion) was already out there. How else do you think these people served with protective orders were able to get to them? -
A Virginia woman has been stalking Tim Cook for more than a year
