Review: macOS Catalina 10.15 is what Apple promised the Mac could be, and is a crucial upg...
To add to my previous comment, I think Apple is driven by dollars to replace Dashboard with Notification widgets, because Notification widgets require that you install a full app to get the companion widget. Totally different from Dashboard which had standalone widgets that were free. Not good for Apple's bottom line.
Here's ALL of the widgets advertised in the Canadian App Store. 15 in total, but we're actually looking at full app listings, not just widgets. It's misleading on that front, too. Who would pay $69.99 for a widget? Nobody. They need to get the full app instead.
Not too happy about this move by Apple. It takes value away from users, and forces them to buy apps instead.

Apple's iOS Contacts app claimed to be vulnerable to SQLite hack
I think AppleInsider missed the part where Apple DID fix the bugs.... four years ago!
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204941
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204942
The original CVE document (here) just hasn't been re-verified yet to confirm the fixes. That's not a fault of Apple's.
Did the researchers miss this, too?

Apple updates USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter with HDMI 2.0 support
caladanian said:Hmm, why not HDMI 2.1 or 2.2 when they first upgrade?
Could it mean it now supports the "HDMI 2.x" family, including 2.1 and 2.2? Not sure how HDMI version numbers work and what is backwards compatible between versions. -
How to speed up working on your Mac by making windows snap into position
My favourite recent discovery is that you can double-click the edge of a window, and it expands to the edge of the screen. I always used to click-and-drag the edges. I don't always want to create a new full-screen space with my windows, but I do like them to take up the full screen.
(I just wish Finder remembered window positions and sizes like it used to. It seems to suffer from terrible amnesia nowadays.)
