  • Is Apple Vision Pro a 'first year flop' or tomorrow, today?

AVP is mobile computing and entertainment minus the small screens. That's obviously the future.

The Studio looks sad on this graph, being M2 series.

Yeah, anybody buying a Studio now needs to have their head examined.  I just don't understand why Apple does what they do...  Yes, I know an M4 Studio is coming, but I thought an M3 Studio was also coming, and never did...
FYI: M2 Ultra can have 76 GPU cores and 192 GB of RAM.

  • Apple HR exodus continues with recruitment exec departure

The only way that you could claim that it's "discriminatory" is if you could show credible statistics that whites are underrepresented in the corporate job market relative to their percentage of the population. You have to understand that it's not really about what people think/feel/say. It's about the statistics. Like the famous example of the Vietnam War where blacks were overrepresented as service members in Vietnam relative to their percentage of the population and significantly underrepresented as officers. The bias showed up in the promotional path.

  • Apple's study proves that LLM-based AI models are flawed because they cannot reason

The primary issue with LLM computing is the ridiculously high power requirements. It goes against all of the low power hardware development of the last couple of decades.

  • EU advocacy group sues Apple because other streaming music services hiked prices

Until Apple released the iPhone I doubt Spotify even had personal streaming as a viable proposition (if they even existed then). Given Apple have charged right from the start, Spotify could just have said “We don’t want to use your expensive delivery system” and done it themselves. But they didn’t. And now they complain (or at least some people are).
Spotify was an early adopter of the App Store (2008) and their strategy was to make the free ad-supported version available for download and to have customers pay for the premium version on Spotify’s web site. That approach = 0% commission to Apple and ANY company that wanted to could have followed the same approach.

So that’s the reality: streaming services always had a path to entirely avoid the App Store commission.
