  • Apple is rumored to be opening its first store in Oxford

Walking past an Apple Store the other day I stopped to just look through the window.

I wondered if their pinewood, minimalistic style is starting to look a bit dated now.  Couldn't decide.

Certainly didn't look interesting or innovative.

  • AirPods Max four years later: a missed spatial computing opportunity

$550 isn't really an "ultra premium" price range for headphones. It's really more a of mid-range. There are all kinds of products in the $700 to $1,0000 price range.
Yeah, no. This is like saying the Mercedes G-Wagon is really more of a mid-range SUV because Lambo, Bentley, Rolls, etc SUVs can cost twice as much and MUCH more. $550 for wireless cans is an ultrapremium price tag relative to the rest of the market, overall, and certainly to Apple's most direct competition from Sony and Bose.
LOL...economy range for headphones is $100 to $300. Mid range is $300 to $600. High end range would be $600 to $1,000. You have to go above $1,000 to really start looking for something "ultra premium".

That's not really different relative to cars where economy is $15,000 to $25,000, mid range is $30,000 to $60,000, and luxury would be $60,000 to $90,000. The current average new car price is around $45,000 right now.

APM are high end ultra premium to consumers. Sony are also ultra premium but offer better value for money.

People spending more are either audio nerds or professionals.

  • Wedding banned - Apple Watches not welcome at fashionista's ceremony

As the article alludes, I guess that if a guest has a medical condition, such as diabetes, and uses the Apple Watch as a monitor using one of the devices for such purpose, they're just SOL, huh?  Were I such a person (fortunately, I am not), the couple would have to make a choice, either I wear my watch, or I don't attend.  I'd be fine not attending the wedding of someone who put their "vision" ahead of my health.

I am also fortunate that I don't know any people who would actually do this.
Please. Nobody's life is dependant on the 24/7 wearing of an Apple watch. However, It is a very self indulgent and stupid request.

At my wedding I am going to insit EVERY guest, and YES even small babies, wear a vacheron constantin. There will be specialist authenticity checks at the door.

  • Apple's smart display with smart home AI focus predicted for March 2025

Seems like an odd product, but interesting, I do like my smart home gadgets.

But I can't really see the 'average' consumer getting on with this.

I live in the Home Assistant world at the moment and don't, at the moment,  see Apple Home as a realistic challenges to this.

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max review two months later -- Like Apple says, the best iPhone yet

I have owned the ‘pro max’ iPhones since their first release

i have ‘normal’ sized hands and find it pretty easy to use with one hand, I don’t think it’s especially heavy

There is certainly nothing particularly special about the 16pro max vs even the 13 version.

For me at least the AI stuff so far is looking like a pretty big junk feature. The image playground and genmoji is literally rubbish.
