  • Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV limited to 2.1 stereo sound, despite streaming 4K HDR video...

That's pretty ridiculous about the sound. For me, I'm only getting PCM 2.0. I'm deleting it and will continue to use the app on my TV. Figures Amazon would do something like this.

EDIT: I read somewhere else Amazon is aware of the issue and a fix is coming.

  • Spotify runs $99 annual subscription promo to challenge Apple Music

So this $99/year plan is one more way for Spotify to lose even more money? It seems like their business model is the old "we lose money on every customer but we make up for it in volume."
Hey! It works for Amazon! Why not Spotify? /s

I’m curious how long Amazon can continue losing so much money as well.  I know, they occasionally make a profit, but how long can they offer Prime with “free” 2-day shipping, plus music, plus movies, plus whatever else you get with Prime.  If Apple truly operates iTMS at break even or slightly better then Amazon must be losing more and more money every time they add more to Prime.  I don’t get it.  A couple of years ago I saw a guy on YouTube talking about how the prior year (I think) Amazon had spent $6 billion on shipping costs but only charged customers $3 billion.  Like Spotify, I just don’t see how this is sustainable.
Amazon is losing money on Prime, but you have to remember, they are making a ton of money selling things. Amazon also makes billions with their web services division. Their web services division alone more than compensates Amazon's losses for Prime.

  • Microsoft releases Edge browser for iPhone with roaming password, dark theme additions

I just tried it out for the heck of it. It was instantly deleted. Pretty silly to release a new app that doesn't support the iPhone X display.

  • Apple adds indoor maps for airports in Berlin, London, Geneva & Amsterdam

There is still a France side and Swiss side at the airport, but its way easier now ever since Switzerland joined the Schengen area.

Apple's problem is software.  It is ridiculous hundreds of millions of iPhone users have to install and updates new iOS weekly.  Monthly may be a more reasonable period. I refuse to install iOS 11 because I hate the constant reminder from Apple to install new OSs which are mainly to fix bugs and some are not ever related to my phone.
You have a choice: go for Android. Bugs are expected in every new released OS on new handsets. It’s good that Apple takes care of it in a week. For Android, you’ll wait for months!
In some cases, you will be waiting forever with Android. Previously, unlocked Samsung phones didn't receive software updates. Apparently that's changing now with the S8 and Galaxy Note 8, but who knows. I have yet to see an update on my Galaxy Note 8 (was given to me for free, didn't buy it).
