  • Canada could soon get the revamped and redesigned Apple Maps service

The reason there are only two cities is because Quebec opted out. They are building their own maps.

  • Hands on with Apple's MagSafe charger and silicone cases

My question is how long will the cord connection to the charger last? You could see in the video that he was pulling on the cord to manipulate it. With a magnetic connection, it will require you to pull on that cord ever time. Eventually the wires inside will fray.

My first modification on mine is going to be: Find a permanent location and glue or stick it down on a surface so that all I have to do is lift the phone. Perhaps I will buy a couple to place around the house. I can't wait for the 3rd party car holder options to come.

  • House Judiciary says Apple enjoys monopoly power with App Store

Excellent news! Any other industry and the execs would have already been in jail. Imagine a car company telling you that you have to buy all accessories from their store, and ones bought from anywhere else will just not work. And the makers have to get their products approved before they can be sold, by a somewhat arbitrary set of rules, and they have to pay 30% to the car manufacturer commission.
I guess all of the 3rd party iPhone and iPad cases are not accessories. Are you kidding? There are thousands of accessories from other makers. The correct analogy is imagine if the government said to Tesla, you have to allow other companies, like Microsoft or Huawei to install their software on your car and open it up to viruses and malware.

  • Apple One will manage users with multiple Apple IDs, but questions remain

The problem I run into is regarding the requirement for the same credit card on a Family Share account. I was considering adding my adult daughter and my in-laws to the Family Share, but everyone wants the freedom to manage their own payments for the music, books, and apps they want separately because they don't want me paying for everything (aren't they nice?), and dealing with reimbursement is a bother. Now that the Apple One bundles are coming, I'll have to think a little more about this.
I noticed recently when I was doing some tweaking on my wife's computer that I could add a second credit card to her payment options for her Apple ID (using Family sharing). I did not have time to delve farthing into it. Can one set a default card? Does it give you the option to choose which card with each transaction?

Anyone else have experience with that?
