  • DOJ could launch omnibus Google antitrust lawsuit as soon as Sept. 28

This is just a dry run before going after Apple's jugular. We'd better get about 10 years supply of popcorn in because that is how long this is all going to take before final summary judgements are handed down (SCOTUS permitting)

  • Apple says Epic Games dispute is a 'marketing campaign' to boost 'Fortnite'

I hope Apple have hard evidence (not hearsay) to back up the claim about Epic throwing its toys out of the pram before. That won't go down well with a jury.

  • GrayShift's GrayKey iPhone forensics tool disassembled in FCC photos

Now that this device exists and apparently has been used successfully, law enforcement agencies should stop bugging Apple about creating a backdoor on their devices.
Buying a GrayShift device costs $$$$. Bugging Apple costs zilch, nada, nowt.

Which is the easiest option? Buy the squad coffee and donuts and send off a complaint to Apple or face the beancounters inquisition in order to spend money on something. /s

  • Ad group urges 'dialogue' with Apple about iOS 14 privacy features

Is there a petition by Apple users to urge Apple to implement the privacy feature?
That would be a good idea, though I don’t think Apple is going to change tack. They often delay sweeping changes like this to give developers more time to implement them.
OTOH, it also gives lawyers more time to draft even more lawsuits to be slung in Apple's direction. Sad fact of life these days. Those that can do. Those that can't become Lawyers and sue Apple.

  • CBP defends seizure of OnePlus Buds, claims trademark violation

    dewme said:

If the CPB has suddenly become the savior of Apple’s trademark virtue, I suggest they slide on over to Amazon.com and search for “fully wireless earbuds.” Not only will they find several sub-$50 AirPod knock-offs that make the seized OnePlus easily pass the sniff test, they’ll find several AirPod Pro knock-offs as well that are knocker-knock-offs than the OnePlus units. All of these are sitting somewhere in Amazon fulfillment centers, warehouses, shipping containers, etc., with import control traceable documents that’ll lead the CBP to easy fodder for their next seizure reveal party. Low hanging fruit ripe for picking.

CBP vs Amazon? The loser won't be the CBP. Amazon is simply too big to be taken down like this.
OTOH, Amazon simply don't care about trademarks and the rest especially product safety. Where there is a buck to be made, they are in there making it for their dear leader, Bezos.
    I'm no fan of Amazon.
