  • Competing rumor says no folding iPad in 2024

Less than zero would be my interest in such a gimmick. Damn that evil Samsung!
How many of the many iterations of folding phones has Samsung sold? If it isn't reaching viable proportions then Apple would not release a product unless it would blow the Samsung offering out of the water. They probably have folding iPhones and iPads in the lab as well as touchscreen Mac's but if they see the light of day outside the lab is the big unknown.
Personally, I'm not interested in any folding device other than my Macbook.

  • Apple releases macOS Ventura 13.2 with security key support

Who is responsible?  The scanner was working fine until Apple updated the system software in a way that broke the scanner.  The scanner manufacturer didn't change anything, Apple did.  The scanner still works with Windoze 11 and Linux 6.1.7, so... is it REALLY the scanner manufacturer's fault?
My experience is exactly the opposite. My old Canon LIDE scanner has zero support on Windows after W7. On MacOS and Linux? Works OOTB.
The same goes for printers. On Windows, printer drivers have got so bloated that they make some video driver packages seem svelte like by comparison. Can I get a supported driver for my Canon photo printer on W10 or W11? No chance.
MS provided hardware makers a perfect get out when releasing W10/W11 and their driver signing. many did exit stage left leaving millions of perfectly serviceable hardware high and dry.

  • Microsoft layoffs effectively kill HoloLens & mixed reality projects

Microsoft is just following the [cough][cough] excellent example set by Google and to a lesser extent, Twitter.
Google is a classic case of throw all sorts of ideas at a wall and see what sticks after a few years. If something has stuck but has not had a ROCI of say.... 1,000,000% then can it.
All companies start projects that in the end, never see the light of day but it seems that the likes of Google and MS love to make those projects public well before they are really ready for 'prime time'.

But heaven forbid Bezos cut his d*** shaped rocket, or other vanity projects.

Baldy Bezos can't be seen to being outdone by Elon Twittler in Chief.

Besides, there must be a new island that he wants to buy and create the Kingdom of Bezos the Almighty

I'm with you, man! And maybe for Christmas, Elon could hop aboard a SpaceX rocket and set the controls for the heart of the sun. I'm sure he thinks he's brighter!
Have a like for mentioning the title of an old Pink Floyd song, 'Set the control for the heart of the Sun'.
