How many affordable electric car makers are giving Tesla any real competition?Define 'affordable' ?What is affordable to you may well not be for me.Next year, we... well at least in Europe will see a good number of BEV's that are much more affordable for the majority of people than even the lowest priced Tesla Model 3.These will be produced in Volume. The VW ID.3 is just the start. The new Zoe, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa and Peugeot e208 (the latter two share the same platform) are just the start. -
Editorial: Does Apple have the mettle to fight for Mac success in the Pro market?
OutdoorAppDeveloper said:If there is no option for a NVIDIA GPU, it is NOT a Pro computer period. It is a Pro Computer but not one that meets your definition of Pro.I've had many struggles with NVIDIA GPU's over the years. 200MB for a graphics driver? really?Last year I took 10 different NVIDIA GPU to recycling. The guy sighed and said 'not more of these things? We can't give them away'.Yes, you have a point if you want to use CUDA etc but for most people, as long as it can drive their display with minimum flicker and delay/pixelation they are happy. -
Minor Lightroom and Photoshop bugs pop up in macOS Catalina
It really is about time that Abobe pulled their finger out and got rid of the 32bit components in their supported software.Updates from a recent as August 2019 contain 32bit components.Adobe has had more than enough notice that 32Bit was going away yet... they seem to either ignore it or just pay lip-service to the issue.Oh wait... this is the same company that produced what is possibly the most bug ridden bit of software know to mankind... Acrobat Reader. How many people are going to upgrade to Catalina only to find that their S**** does not work for them?As the updaters are still 32bit... how are they going to update the updaters if 32bit does not work any more? Oh yes, hike their prices and drive people away. /s /s -
Apple sued for storing iCloud data on third-party servers
I think (IANAL) that Apple could be on the hook for 'false advertising' but it is really splitting hairs. If Apple are guilty then almost every other advertiser out there and their Ad Agencies will get a rude wakeup call. How many adverts do you see where you know that the claim is dubious. Oh, and flashing a disclaimer on the screen for 1mS is not enough to get you off the hook.Other than that, I fail to see how those bringing the lawsuit have been financially damaged. -
Microsoft should have been Apple's challenger in mobile, says Bill Gates
If we look at the Netbook platform that was specified by MS then all the reasons for the failure of the Windows Phones is there for all to see. They hobbled the spec to ensure that it would eventually fail. Google didn't put those sort of restrictions on the hardware used by phone makers using Android as their software platform. MS typically wants to keep really tight control of everything. That is their nature. That is another reason why Windows phones are dead as the dodo.
