  • Govee countertop ice maker review: Matter control to chill those beverages

I've owned a similar style ice maker (without the automation) and found the ice it produces to be disappointing. The ice melts quickly and is softer than refrigerator ice. While some ice is better than no ice, I wouldn't recommend it.
Yeah, the ice produced from this device appears to have lots of air which is why it's cloudy. That's probably why your soft ice melts quickly. Slow melting ice is made by freezing water slowly not fast.

For most people manually filled icecube trays put in the freezer produce the best ice.
Exactly. This is for people who want ice produced fast that will barely cool down their drinks but will noticeably water them down, simply because of the surface area to mass ratio of the empty cylinders. Or you could save about $165 at Amazon, and buy a set of four plastic ice trays that each produce 16 good-sized ice cubes with no holes in them so they take longer to melt completely. The same kind of ice trays that came with the long-gone fridge I bought 40 years ago — but I still have the ice trays, as well as a couple of others.

  • Apple to build AI servers in Houston, invest $500B in U.S. economy

Why is it the big corporations keep building fabs or factories in the worst of all possible places (south-central Arizona, which has no water to speak of, and looks to have less every year for the foreseeable future; Houston, which is ground zero for massive flooding associated with hurricanes; Taiwan, which has frequent earthquakes and typhoons, not to mention being in Beijing’s crosshairs)?

  • Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope review: a compact, iPhone-connected night sky guide

Might be worth mentioning that the DwarfLabs website link states it's just pre-orders they're taking, with 16 - 18 weeks expected before shipping.

  • Services buoy slumping iPhone sales in record-breaking holiday quarter earnings

lol. A 0.008608321377331 drop in phone sales revenue is “slumping”?

Good one. More in line with the text itself “marginal”.

    Buy a better headline writer.
Not clear where you got that number, that had neither a per cent symbol nor a unit after it. iPhone sales revenue declined $600M. While that's notch in terms of the overall sales picture for Apple, it's a fair chunk of change. I mean, would you turn $600M down if someone offered it to you?
