  • Apple to push new and refreshed home hardware across 2025

As you're aware but for whatever reason say otherwise, Google doesn't sell personal data. Full stop.

           ....

I assume you're writing humor. Every time Google has sworn they're not violating users' privacy, they are. Every time they swear in press releases, in Congressional testimony, and then in court that they haven't misused users' PPI or sales history or email or files or (the list is endless), they end up paying up, because it's always peanuts compared to what they can make on selling ads. For an outfit that started out with the big line, "Don't be evil," they have made evil the quotidian, the commonplace of the web.

Me, I have foresworn Google and all its minions (YouTube and every outfit that requires a Google login). Somehow, I manage to live life without them. Actually, I'm missing nothing, other than an outfit that treats the user as its product.

  • How Apple's smart home revolution begins in 2025

I have been slow adopting smart home features because I absolutely refuse to use any device that relies on a cloud service. It’s that whole privacy thing again!
Me, too. Given how cheap storage is these days, I would love a HomeKit Secure Video doorbell that wrote to a local (network or Mac-attached) volume.

  • How to copy file and app icons using macOS Preview

Isn't it slightly easier to use the old, trusty method of highlighting the icon to be used as the source, hitting command-I (get info), clicking on the icon in the Get Info window, hitting command-C to copy the icon, then highlighting the file whose icon you want to change, command-I, click on the old icon, then command-V to copy the icon from the other file? Pretty much muscle memory for me for quite a few years now.

  • Wedding banned - Apple Watches not welcome at fashionista's ceremony

is their a wedding, they can do whatever they want. Let’s face it, the Apple Watch is ugly,

So are Rolexes and even Breguets — depending on your taste, which is absolutely as valid as anyone else’s. If this really is solely the bride’s idea, she needs to understand that from the moment the officiant says, “I now pronounce you [insert your terms here],” neither of the people concerned will ever have sole say about anything for as long as they’re married.
